Does Gnome do something similar to this?
ОтветитьFantastic !
ОтветитьBeen using the Bismuth in KDE Plasma for tiling for about 3 years now. Works fine, but does not have windows position memory either. On Every reset I have to set all desktops up manually again. Hopefully KDE's native tiling will have a window position and tile layout save features soon.
ОтветитьYou increased the padding and then complained about the gap between the windows (the padding).
Ответить.. except bismuth doesn't work anymore :(( at least on Wayland, but then X11 does not have touchpad gestures 😭 anyone knows how to fix it??
ОтветитьCan't wait for them to flesh out this feature a bit more, it's perfect for me as Bismuth has been breaking lately on my PC
ОтветитьIt's me or the new tiling doesn't save the layout per virtual desktop? Btw I always used META arrows to tiling and works fine for me. It adjusts windows according to the use but there is no padding though.
ОтветитьThe tiling system is currently broken. If you add a floating tile and split it further you will not be able to remove the tiles. Only thing you can do is reload the layout.
Ответитьcould you help me with one thing ? love activating my system's dark mode on Android in line with the sunrise/sunset. Say sunset dark mode, sunrise = light mode. I really want this function SYSTEM WIDE for KDE. I hope you can help me... What would also be important to me is that the system also puts the applications in dark or light mode, i.e. if possible Firefox, Google Chrome, LibreOffice, Thunderbird and so on.... In addition, it would be desirable if the brightness of the screen could also be adjusted or determined with the sunrise and sunset.
Ответитьnow if only theyd make an update where the settings menu made sense
ОтветитьWhat's hilarious is until v43 Gnome sucked.
ОтветитьYou can configure it in Desktop Effects in System Settings, but for now it's only the shortcut that you can change.
ОтветитьGuys, what is the second button in the top left corner for?
Ответитьflatseal does a lot better managing flatpak application access controls
Ответить@TechHut what distro are you using these days?
ОтветитьMulti monitors checked.
What about screen tearing in X11?
What about CPU high usage and improved processor fan control?
Only time will tell.
Too many buttons compared to Power Toys.
ОтветитьI missed Round corners in Plasma's design.
ОтветитьI hope plasma drops the grey color scheme for the light theme it makes it look so old, they need to make it pure white with accent colors
Ответить"And the number T"
ОтветитьKicking the user off with a great onboarding experience. That is fantastic. That will certainly help bring others into the fold.
ОтветитьThanks for this video TH! I have tried many times to use KDE Plasma, but with dual monitors and because of some other glitches, I keep going back to GNOME. I will definitely be trying this out when it's released.
Ответитьgood!!
ОтветитьThis was already implemented a month ago in Plasma-git :P
ОтветитьKDE designed to be simple:
Also on DM with thousands of options and configurations, it's far from being simple
More, more! We need MORE space between buttons on KDE's windows and dialogs.
GNOME makes the space not so big, we want more!
Amazing release :) when is 5.27 officially released?...
ОтветитьAutomatic tiling would be nice, instead of having to drag all the windows.
ОтветитьAnother great video TechHut. I got to say that new tiling option looks pretty good, it reminds me somewhat of the tiling ability that PowerToys adds to Windows, sucks that there doesn't seem to be a way to save the layout though... I think I'll spin up a VM with KDE 5.7 to give it a try...
ОтветитьI went with a ninja 650. I get a lot of people don’t like the motor but IMO it’s just as much fun as a super sport under 100 mph and much more comfortable. Super sports make me wanna ride like an idiot a lot more too.
ОтветитьI'm running Garuda linux KDE how do I get some color on my task bar
ОтветитьFedora and now KDE allowing flatpaks on startup pretty much puts the nail in the coffin of the hopes for appimages and snaps becoming THE universal linux package format. Especially now that flatpaks follow your theming.
ОтветитьAll I need is an auto tiling kwin script and I'll be fully happy with this current tiling system.
ОтветитьThat tiling feature is the excuse I was needing to buy a 49' Monitor <3
ОтветитьNot sure what I just watched. That hair was too distracting :)
ОтветитьKDE plasma has certainly won me
Ответитьmy heart literally broke when my fav linux content creator left gnome for kde💔...come back to gnome....gnome is like designers making a de...kde is like coders making a de
ОтветитьNobara not Nobora 🤣
ОтветитьFor quick tiling, this is not very quick. I hope you will be able to just hit a shortcut and everything tiles with a default pattern
ОтветитьBaked in tiling OMG I’m in love!!
ОтветитьWhich version of KDE do you use?
Ответитьim running the beta on top of arch linux, no bugs found so far.
ОтветитьFantastic release! Unfortunately it's the last from Plasma 5 series. Crossing my fingers for the version 6 to keep up being great.
Ответить👍Great!
ОтветитьI feel like we need to call it the windows or super key from now on.
ОтветитьToday ity's been a day to try out KDE plasma, two screen with multimonitor issues and some Tiling managers, and then this video popped out
ОтветитьDamn KDE, please, just a little bit more effort and you will skyrocket to the top, maybe even passing GNOME 🙏 Although, to be fair, GNOME is a dead serious machinery with tons of finances and personell behind them 🤔
ОтветитьGood to see this killer wo win11 Feature on kde!
PS: Killer windows10 feature. sry, forgot how long this is in power toys already. with saving ofc
Nice to see they have added more features 👍 to the iso of the iso and the iso of the iso 😛 my keyboard suggestions 🤣
