Disappointed… I felt so happy when I saw you chose this song to review and react to but I am disappointed you chose to focus on the 1970s style production and not the strength of the song, which is hundreds of years old and was re -interpreted with amazing rhythm and musical genius by one of the best Irish artists ever. Phil Lynott is a black Irish icon and I wish you would give him more credit for that. He is a hero to Irish people of all colours in the UK and all over the world. Best wishes. It was studio version.. Thin lizzy was one of my favorite bands in the 70's..

Phil lynot was born in west Bromwich in England and that's where I was born as well so really he is English not Irish.

There is a live version of this out there. This song is extremely old and it has been resurrected. I believe Thin Lizzy does it more better then even Metallica!
Phil is one of a kind and Thin Lizzy is like a bull in a China shop. These guys did what they liked and WE loved what they did!
Phil has been missed for many years and if you actually delve into it he will be missed for decades.
The original members were 3 and if you get it 3 is something you will not see in any modern ROCK band.
Thin Lizzy is one of the best and they always will be. I will spin the LPs until I can’t.

I think that's the studio version with live video cuts for the video. There are some great live versions too though.
