I identified his voice!🙏
Hats of to this presentation !
Supra,Supra,indeed!✌️👑
As the path we find ourself in yoga, how honest we follow through as our yoga at these difference level of practice we will be what we are in being ( of yoga )
ОтветитьWe have to understand if a yogi cam even Thoroughly keep its Yama as Niyama how would that guru even has the discipline to another phenomenal
ОтветитьBrilliance and modesty all the same.
ОтветитьLove Professor Bryant!
ОтветитьYou stop the brain and then you see your soul
ОтветитьGood start to my path to siddhi powers. I need support from other dimensions.
ОтветитьPranams💛🙏🧘♀️🕉🔱🔱💩🌺
ОтветитьBhagavat Geeta wasn't an elite text, nothing was elite text/scripture. It was a misinformation spread by group of 'elites/colonizers' just like Aryan invasion theory. Every Hindu household keep Geeta, Ramayan, Purana etc. Old ladies, even if never educated in school, used to read and study geeta and other texts at home.
ОтветитьThis guy sounds exactly like Graham Hancock.
ОтветитьWish he would have stopped fiddling with the microphone. It was a distraction from what he was saying. Couldn't watch.
Ответить😊😊😊😊😊😊
ОтветитьThe speaker shyed away from saying yoga is science, Ultimately that's exactly what it is, if it can be (independently correlated) 🤭🙏🤲🙏
ОтветитьThis guy is so nervous at public speaking he just cant stop fiddling with the mic
ОтветитьHow to make a career of just talking... on and on and on..... forever
ОтветитьDoes he know anything about Buddhism? I'm coming at this from a Buddhist angle so I'm tentative about following the Hindu route but I wonder if he is aware of what the crossovers are? I can hear some similarities in what he's saying about sutras and transcending suffering but I don't know if the meaings are the same.
ОтветитьEdwin! Always so knowledgeable, clear, brilliant—not to mention funny! Thank you for this great session 🙏!
ОтветитьGreat illumination of the Yoga Sutras and their context in Hinduism and western yoga. I have been a fan of his commentary on the Sutras for a long time, such a great exploration for yoga teachers. I found this lecture as I am creating a podcast episode around the historical context of the Yoga Sutras, and having recently learned about their fall into obscurity before the British colonialism and subsequent translation of the text into English. Some good insight into that here. I had some citta vrttis arise with his constant fidgeting with the microphone and the sounds that it created, so I hope he will see this video and be more conscious of that in the future! Otherwise, I am happy to see he is as brilliant in lecture as his writing. Thanks Mr. Bryant!
Ответитьreferring to 'this thing ' called Yoga!
Thank you for a learned lecture well reflecting the lively facets of an actual practitioner
ОтветитьThanks for the explanation. Thanks for sharing. 😌
ОтветитьKoti koti Pranam 🙏
ОтветитьGuruji Iyengar was referred 🙏🙏
ОтветитьMy mother's side are vedantian brahmins while fathers side are vaishnava yadavas. I had a culture shock when I actually read the vaishnava texts.
I have always been raised a vedanti.
Brilliant lecture on Patanjali's yoga sutra.
I liked the Q &A. There was a question on vegetarianism. Prof.Bryant explained the importance of vegetarianism in yoga practice, compassion, and the necessity of satvic foods. etc
A questioner asked about 'consciousness". Prof Bryant explained what you mean by "Pure Consciousness". There is no object involved in Pure Consciousness". When Western neuroscientists talk about consciousness they do not mean "Pure consciousness," their studies of consciousness always involve an object. Pure consciousness cannot be studied by neuroscientific methods. pet scan of the brain is not going to help. Pure consciousness is a purely subjective experience, and cannot be studied by any neuroscientific tools.
ists
It's extremely hard to say the Buddhist explanation of Nirvana really differs from what Patanjali was proposing, some scholars of Buddhism would hold that nibbana (nirvana in Pali) is unconditioned, and the ariya who attained that would never be swirled into samsara, that ariya's mind is not perturbed by any flux, i.e. citta vritti nirodhah, the process of mental formations ceased.
These types of arguments on whether the nibbanic consciousness equals atman, is like the Theravadins who argue the nature of six consciousness with Mahayanists who support the idea of an eternal pure mind (as in Tibetan Mahamudra/dzogchen practice, or Japanese Shingon/Zen schools). And this is an ongoing debate that never ceases (which is citta vritti in a way).
Luang Phor Theean from the Theravada tradition (i.e. Mahasati) in Thailand, comes up with "seeing not being" in his enlightenment, and basically the ever-purified seeing never perturbed by any saṅkhāra, that's could possibly be what Patanjali describes as the paramātman, and it's Buddhist master who had no knowledge of Hindu ideals that attained such a state.
Wow, that was great, also the Q and As, brilliant, thanks
ОтветитьI love this guy !!!
ОтветитьMaybe it's me because I had a great teacher at early age, started reading YS more than 20 years ago, but he couldn't stay on point for 2 minutes, and wasted half the lecture without getting to the first five sutras. Just reminded me to stop wasting my time. I hope he gets to disturbed or non disturbed mind, since he couldn't even explain some of the sutras in its natural order.
Ответитьonly a bit arrogant... Prof. Bryant has obvious knowledge but I wonder if any real awakening...
Ответитьyou are right ... people read more Yoga sutras in west than in India . But here people read more Bhagvad geetam ... it encompasses everything ... every Yoga .. Bhakti , Karma , Dhyana
Ответитьthe Living tradition went into the Himalayan Caves ... there is an unbroken chain of Yogic masters practicing Yoga , doing tapas SINCE TIME IMMEMORIAL in the Himalayas and in Tamil Nadu ...
with change in times this knowledge comes out of the caves to the society and when times or Yuga changes it remains only in the Himalayas ..
👉 I would like to share one thing maybe it can help somebody.
The master /guru that I follow Shri S.N Tavaria had said that before you can start to read & understand the Yoga Sutras , you first have to rearrange the yoga sutras in the correct arrangement only then you can understand them fully in correct order .
Unfortunately or Fortunately only that teacher can rearrange them who has the experience behind it , merely translation and reading the sutras like any other book will never help .
You will think that you have understand them but trust me you haven't.
You will not need any other sutras or book if you just follow these Yoga Sutras and imbibe them into your life .
Yoga sutras contains coded / encrypted science of yoga and only a master who has experienced that state can teach you these sutras and give you practical exercises and sadhana to do otherwise its of no use.
This is not a philosophy this is pure science.
Each word in the sutras has deep meaning to decode and understand
Again and again till one day you will experience yourself that state .
Merely reading and hearing anything will never transform or evolve you spiritually you must do the techniques or methods told by the master or Rishi Patanjali himself has given the techniques in the Sutras but i told you it can only decoded by a experienced master.
I can go on and on but that will not help .
Read Yoga Sutras by SN Tavaria ji and you will get an idea and try his teachings.
I can make mistakes here so please do try to do your research on this .
This comment is not to criticize anyone but to give you a perspective to look into this .
I am just a disciple who is also trying to understand and follow this path.🙏
Om 🕉️🙏
The world is divided into two; light and Darkness; life and death. It is either you are in God's kingdom, or Satan's Kingdom of Darkness, also known as hell on earth. God did it that way to punish those who have no fear of God, but worship Satan instead of worshiping God. You worship Satan, you are a dead man walking. Which means you live in Hell on earth where life is totally useless and meaningless. This is the reason so many people commit suicide. If you are a child of God, you live in heaven on earth which is the true life. God made it that way to punish mankind who have no fear of God. Their lives will be useless. You cannot disobey God and live to talk about. You condemn your own life and your own soul. This man is teaching about the kingdom of Satan and how to worship Satan. You are worshiping death and hell. YOGA is the worship of the satanic god of BUDDHA. God revealed to me that most mankind on earth are in Darkness. Which means they are devil worshipers; direct and indirect. God also reveal that End Time is coming to the world. Ungodly people who have no fear of God will be swept into hell underground. Apostle R.
ОтветитьBut yes after knowing that u are god through knowledge, practicing raja yoga is even better.
ОтветитьRespectfully i dont completely agree with all of ur understanding. Knowledge alone can be enough to enlighten one. Just that u hve to keep reminding urself that ur atman and than do karma.
ОтветитьBrilliant.
ОтветитьHis talk is full of insights. 🙏🙏🙏
ОтветитьBrilliant.
ОтветитьStop grabbing the microphone!!!!!
ОтветитьI was about to type "no body who has 'Mystic Powers' would truly be happy that they had those powers", but then the Prof. started talking about most yogi's being malevolent beings in that tale... I dare say i really definitely vibe with the yogi char, or archetype, just lazier, but wish i wasn't pulled down so. Lowest chakra always open. remember that! Protect your spines people!
ОтветитьVery useful breakdown of his commentary work. The questions at the end were also very interesting. What I find even more surprising about consciousness is the more we study it in relation to neurons the less we can explain about it, in a way some authors even acknowledge that there might be more to consciousness that the sum of all the physical parts and their interactions
ОтветитьCan I get Prof . Bryant no ?
Ответить🍃राधे कृष्णा🌸

🍃thank you🍃
Brilliant! A serious topic shared with sense of humor. Thank you so much Professor.
ОтветитьFor me this was the most interesting talk about religion so far. I am not an expert in any way about sanskrit and all the terms that so many people know and are aware of, but I was able to follow the discussion between the audience and the professor, who I felt was totally free of something that you might call an academic proudness... I found him very humble and a extraordinary sympathetic person. I feel very happy about that this video turned up in my computer! When I listened to the video I associated to a video I saw several years ago about a discussion between some Nobel laureates (most of them) and also some who were scientists within fields of modern science, which for long have not seemed to be accepted as science by most scientists. One of those persons was Rupert Sheldrake, which I think argued for things which probably could be established science according to Indian old scriptures. The Nobel laureates were very condescending against Rupert Sheldrake's theories on telepathic 'phenomenon' and so on, and at that moment I felt so frustrated due to the lack or willingness to even consider that there might be a possibility for things which can't be proved in the strict academic way, and which I think is very arrogant. Thank you very much for this video! ❤🙏
