17/08/23 - Update - I now have the final consumer Bigscreen Beyond headset and my review remains the same. Overall, the build quality is better but the glare and small sweet spot remain.
ОтветитьBeen hurtig for a lightweight non-bulky headset but the price is just too much as of rn. it's twice the price of a new Quest. I hope more affordable lightweight options come out because the heaviness of VR is why I dont play that often
Ответить90-75Hz is poor.
ОтветитьI guess I will have to wait another 5 months to see what 2024 has to offer. My 2016 HTC Vive is really dated, and I want to have more clarity. I have the whole system. 3 OG Vive trackers 1.0 and 2 OG 1.0 Vive base stations and the OG 2016 Vive wands. Everything works fine. However, I think it is time for a hardware refresh. What headset should I go with. my wish list is PCVR, Passthrough and Wireless with full body tracking. I was looking at Quest 3. I was also looking at Bigscreen of course. Lastly, the Vive XR Elite. If you have any proper recommendations. Let me know. Budget is not an issue.
ОтветитьHow Much It is
ОтветитьHow does the cable compare to the index in terms of durability? Index cable doesn’t like to be twisted and I already had a cable break from that just by playing in vr
ОтветитьI would want to buy this but I think I like my kidneys.
ОтветитьMost important thing for me is FOV. I don't know why but everyone seems to put less of a priority on FOV, when isn't the whole point of VR to be immersed and not look through goggles.
ОтветитьThere is just far too many hurdles in order to use this thing. The perscription lenses, 3d scanning your face and stuff. It's just not exactly a smooth process for something that's meant for entertainment. Not to mention the cost of the thing and all the hurdles in the way.
ОтветитьThis is the first headset I'm even considering because its so small!
Cant wait what the next 5 years bring us!
Your narrative is brilliant; just like a book that was brilliant in its thematic treatment. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Author Name
ОтветитьI don't understand why I feel so giddy when someone specifically mentions the vr headset I currently use, the HTC vive, and talking about an upgrade path. Gets the brain juices going
then I remember my pc is barely able to power the vive at like 40 fps with decent graphics
Extremely helpful video; thank you
ОтветитьWhich are the best vr?
Ответитьif only it had eye tracking
ОтветитьIt looks promising. It looks like I'd be able to just attach parts to it. Imagine if you could make it like AR also? 😊
ОтветитьYou lost me at iphone requirement : (
ОтветитьI've heard about the inability to share the headset because of the custom face cushion, but after seeing it can be easily attached and removed, why not just order multiple for friends and family that would consistently use the headset.
Would you be able to order extra face cushions? Would they be expensive?
Does this require that that you already own for example an Oculus system to tract the headset movement ect?
Ответить$999 or £1149 tf why do we have to pay loads more? or did you get those mixed up?
ОтветитьThey just need to release cheap controllera and base stations and im in
ОтветитьCurious, didn't see any notes on people who wear glasses, does this unit support people who wear glasses, or maybe being that close glasses are not needed?
ОтветитьYou may have answered this before but are near or far sighted? I image you wouldn't need the corrective lenses if you are far sighted but wanted to be sure.
ОтветитьSo if the sweet spot is small what is the point of using pancake lenses?
ОтветитьI feel like if they can keep momentum and keep innovating, they're going to be real contenders, which we need more of. Cheers to these guys for trying to make meaningful leaps.
ОтветитьHey! Thanks a lot for the video, it was really great.👍
Could you please give me advice? I think you're the only one who has enough knowledge in this area to answer my question.
I'm mostly looking for a headset to watch movies and shows. I have a good 65" hdr oled tv but want to get really cinema and 3d effects with good picture(I don't have an appropriate wall for a video projector).
My priority is not comfort but to get the most enjoyable and realistic picture from watching movies.
I'm ready to buy Pimax Crystal but is it the best choice in comparison with Bigscreen Beyond or maybe there is a better choice? I mean which one can give the best cinematic experience? I've read that Pimax Crystal has HDR and Bigscreen you said has a "glare" issue during scenes with high contrast...
Or maybe it's impossible for now to get better cinematic experience from a VR headset than from a good 65" hdr oled tv set? What do you think?
Very exciting headset. As dope as this whole thing is, the FOV is still a dealbreaker for me. I seriously wouldnt mind spending 2k on a headset that ticks all the boxes - FOV, OLED, high res and wireless VR support, but afaik its just not there yet.
Also, cool to see you drive a TT MK1 in the intro. Awesome cars, had 2 and still miss em. Fun to drive in AC in VR!
The fact they couldn't get 90hz working without lowering resolution below all competetor headsets is a huge no for me, for this price they are simply compromising way too much. Then again, I don't play VR anymore because of the discomfort and overheating using the index (vive before that). So this is really the only option for me.
ОтветитьWhat are your PC Specs when testing?
ОтветитьWill this headset become cheaper in the furture.(please)
Ответитьdarshan's vision translates to vision's vision
ОтветитьIf only I could trade my Index for one of these....
ОтветитьYuck on the violence crap. How about non violent VR stuff! Laurie NZ. 😊
Ответить$1000 keep it
ОтветитьArizona Sunshine 2 is coming soon this year to steam VR and it is GORGEOUS and so detailed. It’s no HL ALYX, but damn im excited for that game.
ОтветитьBigscreen Beyond will be great if launch wireless version
ОтветитьIronic, isn't it?
ОтветитьHaven't used my old VR G2 in 2 yrs and probably never will after ALYX. But this set has sparked my interest again
ОтветитьThank you for pronouncing Fresnel correctly! Also for the really good comprehensive review.
ОтветитьWould you recommend buying a valve index kit now in 2023?
Ответитьthank you for the video
Ответитьoverpriced as shit
ОтветитьHow did you get the steam vr game preview to play so tiny?
Ответить€1.369,00 EUR and has no support for Quest 2 compatible hand controllers... Let's wait.
ОтветитьHello sir! If you don’t plan on making a new video about it, would you mind telling us if you recommend Beyond over Aero at the 1k price point. I think more than half of the people in the market for either are buying for VRChat.
I know the Aero doesn’t have a mic. Seems by your outro you still recommend Beyond, but I’m insanely interested in your take
Hi Mike, with an extender, could you put the Soundcore dongle in the headset USB c?
ОтветитьDo we know if see through works on this headset?
ОтветитьIt would be easier to just send them a clay face mold than to waste 1k+ on an apple product. They could just send a fixed face cushion to skip the trouble, or a third party could make a leather+foam cushion so we don't have to worry about it.
