Don't you remember Fluid Film from your teenage years back in the 40's? Best product available to "slow" corrosion way up north where they dump salt 8 months a year and fix potholes 1 week a year.

Just squirt oil into areas prone to rust and rust will IMMEDIATELY stop. Drive down a dusty road to get the dust to coat it. Repeat yearly. Paint WILL NOT stop interior rust period. Paint is good for exterior areas. Trust me I know what I’m talking about.

Too bad I didn't see this and learn about the clear coat spray quick tip BEFORE the rust spread around my license plate on the tailgate of the 2011 Ford Explorer. My uncle said it was a bad batch of metal being used so rusting from inside out. Now my entire lower part of the gate is crumbly and it is a hazard to open/close. ONLY spot where rust is showing up on this MN car too! Thanks for the reminder of wash/wax seasonally. I think I can do that....

I spray paint my truck under body every 5 years, and use turtle wax on it every year. I just climb under it and rub it all the areas I can reach. 20 year old truck, No rust under the body.

I live in southern Ontario and drive a 2007 Toyota Camry which has been crown rust proof every year … absolutely no rust.

Rust starts on inside out, salt mud etc stays inside body panels when not washed properly. I've purchased many vehicle's that people dont keep drain holes open and clean. That starts rust. Keep drain holes clean . Where dirt and debris get stuck that where your problems begin.

Won't help in all actually making worst, water and salt collected under undercoating so it's get worse. I've been disappointed with Scotty

Would a car or truck rust if the positive was ground. Seems like the military vehicles have positive ground and don't rust. Unless the metal they use is rustproof.

Rust almost always starts when the fenders have 2 layers of steel. Condensation gets between the two layers and it starts from the inside out. Forget pain, just drill small holes in inconspicuous places like between doors and take a squirt can of #30 non detergent oil going back and forth to coat the area real good. When done place a small screw with an O ring and tighten. Can do this every year. Most surface rust will not rust through. Just put some boiled Linseed oil on those areas and rust STOPS Been doing this for years and years and NO RUST through. Just look around at other cars or trucks like yours and you will see where they rust. Damn car companies do it this way so it will rust. They know I am right.

I got a deep dent through the paintwork in an awkward part of the body and put Vaseline/petroleum jelly on it years ago; it's never rusted.
