The anglicised the island so much that aside from the celtic nations, if you are english, you aren’t celtic. Sorry.

Celtic was a culture not a race. A Welshman and Irishman are both Celtic but Irish are Gaels and Welsh are Britons, and Scots are even more complicated lol. All different subcategories.

I think it’s sad that so many academics only consider a culture or people ‘worthy’ of an umbrella term like Egyptian, Roman or Greek if they were virulently imperialist in their idea of what constituted a society or nation. It seems to be particularly prevalent among ‘British’ historians and is not at all surprising that they should have a multitude of reasons to down-play the idea of a Celtic people or civilisation to which they themselves have no affinity or meaningful connection. It’s so churlish and petty.

Kelts are Turkish Turanian people of Anatolia their main city was Turkije. Their ancestors are Anatolian Turanic Brigs and Frigians. Britain name comes from Brigs.

Didn’t they originate in the British Isles and from there moved across Europe.? Makes more sense.

I don't understand this tendency to think "either this" or "either that." Clearly, the truth tends to be blended. So, our ancestors (globally) were more brutal, did often find that life was cheap, often oriented around survival and warfare to support the former. We also see the development of what we today call art appreciation. The fact that we can engage in villainy never deletes our interests in the sublime, such as art, storytelling, fine textiles and generally improving material culture.
