I know her tips offended ALMOST Everyone BUT she's STILL talking about HYGIENE. a neck and ears take a beating almost as much as the face. hair holds onto a lot of dirt pollution and bacteria as well as exposure to the elements. Our necks and ears are not only touched by hair and fabric holding onto these things, they take this beating as well. unlike our bodies which are covered up resulting in ANOTHER reason why these areas can be darker than the rest of our bodies. HOWEVER I have seen COUNTLESS videos of ppl showcasing involved shower routines and after care and not ONCE do they do their ears and neck. and you know what, i've seen it show up that it's being neglected. If ANY body part beyond the stinky bits etc need cleaning it should be the neck and ear area and probably feet as well which I often see neglected too in ppls vids who are showing tips on how to be "that girl" or divas or what have you. She isn't crazy for mentioning this, even if she is uninformed to a degree.

When I was a teenager my mother was convinced I wasn’t washing my neck and that’s why it was dark. She would take alcohol pads and scrub it and make me scrub it too. Comes to find out as an adult I have a couple of health issues that cause this. Please be careful with this. I’m just speaking for myself, I felt like I was dirty even though I knew I was washing well.

Whenever I wash my ears in the shower it wets my hair too, and on days I’m not washing hair, it shrinks up due to water. So for anyone who will get their hair wet with this method to, I recommend using a cotton pad and garnier cleanser behind your ears to clean it ❤

How can you just see someone's neck and reckon that they don't clean it. Is it the dark skin that has nothing to do with hygiene but just some health issue, naturally dark skin and some medications?People like you are of the sickest sort. Be kinder!

I use an all natural soap and then i use olay body wash, it smells so good and my skin feels much softer, btw im 12

I sometimes find it difficult to wash my ears in the shower bc my shower cap gets in the way, and my mom doesnt let me wash my hair in the shower (i cant wash it by myself period) so i cant take the cap off

My neck gets dark sometimes and only rubbing alcohol works to remove it. Scrubbed it till raw when younger because I was self conscious bout it

I’m this way about a bath. I don’t see how people get straight into bath water without showering first. I shower, rinse the tub then start bath water.

dark necks are because of hyperpigmentation, just like your elbows and knees. it doesn’t mean someone is dirty. watch your mouth .

I have two vents in my bathroom but if you don’t have one then open your window wide hope that helped :d

As a kid I had severe eczema and my neck was affected leaving me with dark scarring for many years, having people comment on it was horrible. Don't assume someone is dirty, bodies aren't one color

For some reason some states think it perfectly fine to have a window instead of a vent so now I need to get a air purifiers if I don't want mold in my bathroom BTW I live in Ohio a state that get negative 20 winters

I could never double clease my skin. It doesnt matter what kind of body wash I use it always feels dry and pulls afterward. I wash once and then moisturize my body after, locking it in with Vitamin E oil. Helps a lot with psoriasis too I dont have patches anymore.

guys you are all saying that she's being mean bc of the darker neck thing but whilst i agree w u all she has a point. she wasn't saying that having 'dark' neck wasn't okay, she was just pointing out that keeping your ears and neck clean is just as important as the rest of your body.

Girl stap. I used to be pre diabetic and my neck used to be really dark and I would never hear the end of it. People would always comment and say that I wouldn’t “wash my neck” but I would always scrub the shit out of it until I lost a lot of weight and am no longer pre diabetic my neck and other parts of my body cleared up
