Anyone complaining online about modern animation methods - is also not hand writing their complaints and walking them to each mailbox. Drawing fake lines in the sand is essential to feeling superior.
ОтветитьThank god I got to know your channel, excellent content thank u so much
ОтветитьMe: H O O D I E
ОтветитьSo you just basically told me that my taste was worse when I was a kid and we had Batman the Animated Series, X-Men, Gargoyles, Duck Tales and none of those cartoons even looked similar and they all look a million times better when it comes to design and animation. Wtf kinda cartoon crack are you smoking out there?
ОтветитьMan, So, the outro music to this video, The glitch-hop. To lon lon ranch??!!? WHAT?? Its sick, where can I find it?? I subscribed and followed the channel. Thanks!
ОтветитьCan you do a video like this for comic strips or webcomics?
Ответить90% advertisement. Did not teach anything!
ОтветитьThank you for this series! I’m learning a lot for a future childrens book and our current cartoon podcast my wife and I do. 👌🏼
ОтветитьI thought this was a girl’s channel 😅
ОтветитьI like animation with a bit of roughness. I don’t really like Disney anymore, and Pixar to a lesser extent. Their animation is too smooth and too clean and it feels artificial.
Ответить3:14 am I the only one who freaked out when rottmnt came up? Or am I just starved for any sort of rise food…
Ответитьwhat app are you using
ОтветитьAwesome video. Really informative and inspirational. Have a good day! ❤
ОтветитьPeppa pig actually has some of the best design in children’s television. It’s a great show, very very well put together. Especially the design. You can never look at a single scene from the show without knowing exactly which show it is from. You can also always tell whose home they are at, and despite the character design being super consistent among the characters, you can always tell which pig is which or which animal is which. It’s genuinely VERY good design, perfect use of simplicity and detail to make recognizable characters and environments that even babies can easily read. It also has great humor I mean come on… this attack on Peppa pig was so unfair!!
ОтветитьHow to make a Video game mascot, like Mario or Sonic?
ОтветитьI love how Peppa pig makes a BILLION dollars a year for the last 15 years. Merch baby.
ОтветитьI Am Making My Own Cartoon Series In 2024 2025 2028 2030
Ответитьi hate new cartoons so my style is the old mickey mouse
Ответитьme 1 year ago who still doesn't have rigs much money and already isnt proud of their art skills: imma make an 8 season show with detailed characters!!
ОтветитьI love the character designs of daytime tv more than I do film character designs they’re just speak more to me I guess
ОтветитьI Am Making My Own Cartoon Show And A Video Game 🎮 One ☝️ Day
ОтветитьMore like lets make sum kids toys and play with it
ОтветитьMy taste was not worst when I was a kid.
ОтветитьYou remind me of the Mayor from Resident Alien
ОтветитьYour design looks good for a not-so-important character maybe. Though, in my opinion, don't get offended, I don't think she'd get revived for a second season as a main character.
Oh, good, you know this.
I've gotten so much value from your channel, I just wanna send you a huge thank you!
ОтветитьI personally really like the “cheap” art style. It’s clean, it’s easy, and it gives a fun vibe!
ОтветитьThis was fantastic!
ОтветитьYes. People need to hear this well explained video.
I also have question, character turnarounds for animated shows, dont have to have completely smooth turning animation then? Because I've seen some popular turnarounds and they don't. So its more about that they look good from all the angles? (while consistent of course)
The turtle is so cute! 🥰
ОтветитьWhat about story time characters?
ОтветитьI'm getting the idea that you don't like peppa pig 🤔
ОтветитьTbh, I kinda hated some "elder siblings" of the "lazy" examples even when I was young, not because of the style itself, but because of how obnoxious the humour and storytelling was (and still is) But, let's face it, this type of style suits that type of stories just fine. Also, these obnoxious stories often consist some sort of social commentary or underlying deep meaning that appeals to teens and adults first and foremost and keeps the niche sustainable. So, I think, some of the people who hate the "lazy" cartoons are mostly just bored of the general vibe this whole genre gives off, but somehow can't communicate it properly. I think, the key is more wide variety of stories the medium can be used for. As long as art style does it's job and the story is really special to audience, it doesn't matter, how detailed it is. But maybe I'm biased, because I'm not, generally an artist.
Speaking of which, could you do a video on character design for writers. To elaborate, I'm a writer, and character designs I make are meant as concepts I could give to an artist to make their job easier. Or they go to little comics I like to make as an extra content for my web-novels. Or they are a perfect material for various reveals and little merch. So... If the character mainly exist in textual form, what you have to convey first and foremost, when visualizing them? Is there something different, compared to other fields?
You should make a video redesigning Pepe pig
ОтветитьI'd love it if you were a teacher I had. I'm sure all your students were fully enriched
ОтветитьIt's the stillness of the characters that can bug me. Seeming to move from pose to pose when talking, and looking dead and motionless when they aren't talking. Don't give me any budget excuses, there are some shows that avoid this, Like the Mao Mao and Gumball shown here.
ОтветитьGreat content. You could get more engagement and views if your videos are more visual.
ОтветитьReally appreciate the reference to Trick Moon
ОтветитьThis video is very insightful, thanks for making it!
Ответитьi have always been a fan of Animation that's why i want to make my own cartoon and some people really don't understand that
ОтветитьAnimated shows don't need to be like Animated movies you know their separate things
Ответить3D? How about a design for an 16 bit character please (ps: it doesn't necessarily need to be pixel art, it couldjust be designed with it in mind)
Ответить90's animation had a lot of character. Klasky-Csupo, Rocko, Ren and Stimpy, and turn of the millenium you had Cartoon Network's Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory, and Edd Ed and Eddy. Then Fox Kids had Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs, oh, and let's not forget Batman: The Animated Series and The Simpsons' heyday. And the start of anime like Pokemon, Dragon Ball, Fullmetal Alchemist, contrasted with the DC Animated Universe/Justice League and Teen Titans. Not to mention Kim Possible and The Proud Family. And somewhere along the way we got Spongebob, the Fairly Odd Parents, and Avatar: The Last Airbender all airing new episodes at the same time as As Told By Ginger on Nickelodeon alone, just to name a few during the Silver age.
Every single one of these shows has a very distinct style that lent itself to character and depth, or zaniness. Now, the Cal-Arts style is just so pervasive.
This really helped me create some of my own cartoon characters for a seires I want to make. Thanks!
ОтветитьFunny how this came out the same day as the birthday of my original character who I dream of making a animated show of😂
ОтветитьBut really, most cartoons back then looked better
Ответить
