PLEASE, i need help. I want to buy this model, but i am scared that i will have problems with playback of mkv remuxes in dolby vision, because my philips oled807 whichever player i download from google store cannot play it properly, yes playback is possible, but every mkv remux dolby vision stops playing after 14, 15 minute. So i want to buy this model only for that, i dont have new pc or laptop, so just want it to connect it to tv via hdmi. Can someone say can it play it without issues? Thanks in advance!

is it better than Nvidia Shield? The short answer is no it can only be used for playing local videos when Nvidia will do the same plus a lot of other stuff for a lower price

I have a Zidoo Z1000 Pro and recently put a 16TB HDD into the internal drive bay. Unfortunately, as soon as I pressed play on the first film the immersion was totally ruined by the almost continual grinding and clunking from the HDD, a Seagate Exos X16. I've overcome this with an external 5 bay HDD enclosure (Terramaster D5-300C) and a long USB cable to hide the enclosure in another room. All working well.
I have a question if you could answer - would it be beneficial to put a small SSD (via a 2.3 to 3.5 adapter) into the internal bay and, if possible, set the Zidoo to use that internal SSD as a store for the posters, thumbnails etc? Would that load the posterwall etc faster? There is a 'Custom' location in the menu - is that the unit's own 32GB eMMC storage, or does it mean anything connected to the internal 3.5 bay?

Hello there, appreciate if you would kindly advice when you view a movie say with true HD 7.1 audio, will the player downmix the audio to stereo output to the RCA audio sockets ?? any settings required to do this ? And when you play a music file will the audio be output to both the HDMI and the RCA audio together ? Thanks very much.

What's the retail price? IMHO if it's too be a top-end media player, it should have UHD @ 120 fps capability.

Good video. I've owned the Z1000Pro for just over a year now. I also bought a Z9X. Took me many, many months to rip all my movies (DVD, Blu-ray, 4K) to .mkv format. This player plays movies BETTER than a lot of 4K players out there, including my Panasonic DP-UB820. I didn't like the music section - I found my Roon server much better; and now the Roon products are Roon ready and will play all formats including multi-ch flac files. I have all my files on a local Synology NAS. Streaming is handled by Roon - I subscribe to Qobuz. I highly recommend Zidoo products!

Any streaming stick with Kodi on it will beat this. Also this is redundant if you're self hosting with Jellyfin or Plex.

If only made an updated Nvidia Sheild. A little more power and tuning and it can be the defacto media player. I want it in CUBE FORM however.

Did they fix their subtitle renderer? Last year it was impossible to have proper italic, bold or positioned subtitles.

Basically, it doesn't have function to play 1080p bluray and 4k uhd bluray.

This thing is great! Spend some time with the settings though. It took me a while to get everthing just right. Keep tinkering, everything you need is there if you spend just a little effort. Once you get the settings right, it is perfect for your local content. Fantastic product. The built in player is WAY better than using Kodi or VLC on a PC.

Iam considering buying the 1000 or the 3000, did you have a chance to compare between them? Any suggestions based on the experience you have so far with your media player?

does it has an AI-Upscaling feature as nvidia shield? if not, the shield is still the best device

Even though I have an audiophile grade Dolby Atmos setup I'm really just an avid music listener, hence the reason all I need is an Apple TV but for my music it has to be TIDAL

Nvidia shield and apple tv are a joke, you can't compare them with Zidoo :) Also on some blurays select "Play from the begining" and you won't have that problem. If you think there is a problem post it on the forum, they will fix it on the next update. Make sure you receive and install the Beta updates
