Do you have a video just on selling a car? Possibly different avenues of selling and the processes of each. Selling to a dealership, selling to a private party and what are the processes of each?

hm, just curious, say your are moving to another state, and you turn in your car in the state you lived, and you want to buy a new vehicle in the new state, where you are moving too, how would i tbe different?

I live in Nevada and am considering purchasing a car (~2020 Genesis G70) from California, as the price there seems to be about $3000-$5000 less than in Nevada. I’m assuming this has to do with higher supply in CA, but am wondering if you guys have any additional insight/advice so that I can make the best decision. Thanks!

Also you have to pay your state taxes on the car or truck when you register your car or truck in your state. My parents went through this when they bought a new Cadillac in South Carolina when they lived in North Carolina. They paid cash. I learned to do this from my parents. NEVER FINANCE a car or truck you want to buy. Over 70 years, my parent never always bought a new car or truck for cash. They always told us kids that if you didn't have enough money to pay cash then you didn't need it. And since then I have always that rule.

I'm considering buying a used BMW out of state that is at a BMW dealership. What is the best way to handle a PPI in this situation? Normally I would have it sent to a BMW dealership for the PPI, but would the inspection performed there be unbiased? Thanks, -Jason

When you talk about out of state paperwork I have an additional suggestion. I work from home and just happen to have a slew of paperwork I’ve been taking care of for the past year. I get a lot of things via email. I can print those, sign them and fax them back. A lot of times I like to sign them, scan them and email them back. I’m also very into having that email trail to protect the deal. 😊

I have only recently, 6 months or so, followed you guys. Have you heard of fun of American Indian tag issues within CA? I worked a dealership once, title clerk within AR. A Cali customer had a big issue with registering a OK tribal vehicle there. Quite weird story tbh.

Should the dealer fees and dmv fees be taxed? Example the out of the door price of a new car should that be the only thing tax not their doc fees, dmv etc?

I am in this scenario right now. I live in California and want to purchase a rare vehicle that is in Florida. I am still very confused on what documents I can sign through docusign versus what documents I have to sign physically. I want to protect myself from fraud, but I don’t know what documents would be sufficient before I send the funds. Do I only need a bill of sale? Can the bill of sale be signed through Adobe Acrobat opposed to Docusign?

Most dealerships offer free car washes and breakfast and lunch these days. There is the guarantee and maintenance service offered for a time period after purchasing the vehicle. How do you negotiate the value lost by purchasing from out of state? Any possible way to transfer the benefits to a local dealership?

I'm working with an out of state dealer (paying cash) and they won't release the car unless I have an insurance card (i.e. proof of motor vehicle insurance), so that needs to be coordinated. And of course no temporary plates for MA residents so that has to coordinated as well if you want to drive the car home.

Many Maryland dealers have a outside company handle all of there out of state purchases. The third party company handles title and registration. The dealer charges $331 to $356 for this and includes title and registration costs. Can we title and register our own vehicle in our home state when we purchase out of state?

I'm looking to sell our car and pickup and SUV since nobody makes a trailer hitch for 2019 KIA K900. I was wondering if I found a Honda SUV at a Honda dealership in another state, and I want my local Honda dealership to sell me the SUV is that a wise decision? We only have the one car and due to my wife's condition, she does not drive now days. I'm trying to figure out what is the best for us to do. I'm actually wondering if you can lease a vehicle and from another state. I'm looking at a Buick envision next door in Arizona, as I am in California and the monthly payments at this dealership are beyond magical, is this possible? I'm sure I still would have to pay the monthly California tax but can I get the deal on the lease from another dealer that is in another state?

I know a pre purchase inspection makes sure the components are working properly. but does it also look at the condition or look of the exterior and interior? Like scratches on pain, wear on leather, and other scuffs. If i am buying a car out of state, not knowing the interior condition seems scary.

I can't get a single dealership to negotiate or give me a OTD price via email anymore at all even if they promise to. Very frustrating. Anyone that does will get my business.

I bought a car in Arizona and then had to move to California for work within the first 3 months of ownership. California made me pay the difference in sales tax to register the car. That was $4000 that I didn’t expect to payout. California sucks.

Interesting in today’s market dealers refusing to take outside financing if you’re out of state, only cash. Big box Audi dealer in Texas

This just glosses over complex issues like pre-purchase inspection, transport, etc. He says to find a mechanic you trust out of state. How? And often mechanics and dealerships make you wait days or a week or longer to get an appointment. Following this advice you can spend 2 weeks arranging for transport, inspection, etc., and still may not get it right.
