В Італії мало поліції і немає проблем? Оце прикол)) в Італії жахлива ситуація з крадіжками, хай краще поруч буде поліція ніж злодії.

Despite i am from Bucharest i must agree that the city looks like after some intensive 33 years of bombardment! But beside the Municipality that is responsible for the mess there are also the the residents fault. As you saw, they park their cars everywhere with no regards for pedestrian people. They traw garbage everywhere, they spray graffiti on all buildings etc. I am sorry to say but literally all cities in Romania they look light years away compared to Bucharest. Cluj, Timisoara, Craiova, Oradea or Iasi are more clean and presentable than Bucharest. I wish i could blame it all on Gypsies or the municipality but i cant.

People in Bucharest just don't care. They keep talking about "potential" for at lest 20 years yet nothing is done. Bucharest and Constanta are the most backward and dirty cities from all Romania and ironically they should be the best considering that one is the capital and the other is the city on the black sea that supposedly attract tourists. Also i don't think in 10 years will look better. Because i think it looks even worser than 5-6 years ago. So its more probable that it will look even worser than it looks now 🤣

Your criticism is more than fair. You got lots of things right, which is not that common because we rarely make an effort to tell the stories of this city.

I am born and raised in Bucharest and I love it. I'll leave here my perspective on some things.

Bucharest is like a harsh dialogue between generations and cultures. Many generations just demolished a lot of what was previously built in order to try and implement better things in the fabric of the city, with varied degrees of succes. It is why you see so few really old buildings around. For me, the somewhat chaotic result is something that you love to hate and hate to love.

The city is indeed shabby in lots of places. You have to understand that Ceausescu was not your run of the mill late communism dictatorship, and not just from an economical perspective. We shot the mfer during Christmas for good reasons. A guy expressed the situation quite accurately - in the 90s we didn't only inherit an empty well, but also the lie that the well works perfectly. Chisinau, for example, was a wealthier city than Bucharest in the early 90s, despite the diffrence in size. The state properly collapsed, early capitalism was like the wild wild west and changing that took time and money. All of the heavy and medium industry in the city was thoroughly outdated and was eating resources just so that people have a job. Most of it was eventually replaced, but that also took time and money. Time and money that couldn't go in nice public spaces or generally touristy places - the well was pretty much empty. It was a conscious choice, not a lack of know-how. We had to prioritize. We are starting to work on also improving the aspect of the city, so... 10 years. Please visit us in 2033 ^^

Also, the weird, ran down block next to the National Bank is one of the first, if not the first modernist building in the town. We loved the style and we eventually learned how to do art-deco quite well :D

The secret service guy approached you because you were standing and filming near their main building. Normally it wouldn't happen, but you can understand these are not normal times. The police on the other hand is visible in / near the old center because, as you've probably seen, a lot of heavy drinking happens around the place. They need to be able to intervene swiftly and also, if possible, rarely. They are not that visible in most places (they are there tho, you don't get to climb from one of the highest crime rates to one of the lowest through prayers). On the other hand, they don't engage without a reason and even when they do, they tend to be polite. They really are not out there to get you, sorry it got weird :(

Не "хрєн знає що", а один із помітних зразків міжвоєнного модернізму - "Техноімпорт". Коли у Києві таке можна перелічити по пальцях і воно невелике - тут будівлі 1930-х сягають 13 поверхів, а в той час воно взагалі виглядало фантастично. І їх лише порівняно недавно почали відновлювати в нормальному вигляді (до цього об'єкта ще руки не дійшли, але є вже приклади інших реставрованих). Це так як Харків - треба розуміти. Післявоєнка більш типова з дивною для нас тягою до 11-поверховості (можливо, тому що румуни перший поверх не рахують і для них це 10), але тут навіть "хрущоби" (ранні чаушески чи георгіудежки) трохи більш по-людськи зроблені, наприклад може бути 2 входи. І багатоповерхівки після оновлення досить непогано виглядають, хоч і на наш погляд іноді скидаються на поліклініки чи ще якісь нежитлові об'єкти. Подекуди їх встигли розцяцькувати за модою 2000х, але тепер більш стримано, світліше і сучасніше. А от зовсім сучасна забудова якась маловиразна - можливо, сейсмічні міркування стримують політ фантазії, але в нас будують не тільки вище, а й сміливіше (особливо коли орки не заважають). Зате з парками та озелененням тут норм.

So they took the treasure to Moscow, to save it from the German invasion. But in 1917 Communist Bolsheviks came to power in Russia. The building symbol of Bucharest, used to be present on many postcards, is the Romanian Atheneum. I would also recommend visiting the Village Museum, alongside Herăstrău Park. And also the Patriarchal Church, near Unirii Square.

Дякую. Було дуже цікаво послухати. Але розчарувало що не приділили достатню увагу паркам. Трохи показали тільки Herăstrău, хоч і великий, але не найкращий і далеко не найсучасніший. Раджу Parcul Drumul Taberei, Parcul Titan + Alexandru Ioan Cuza Park, Parcul Tineretului (основна фішка там Children's World Park якщо з дітьми).
