You should do another one for 2023 under $500
ОтветитьIt's a shame that quartz is dismissed. The base level nh35 offers no real advantage to Seiko solar or citizen eco drives. In fact I would consider them as superior. Perhaps 4 years on the point of view in this video has changed.
Ответитьa sad world when one sees cobbled-together, microbrand, frankenwatch releases take the place of venerable heritage pieces like the citizen promaster marina militare on lists like this one
ОтветитьVery good review!!
Ответитьwhere did gou get that big rolex wall watch?
Ответить🔥That Glycine!🔥
Edit: 🔥That Zelos!!!🔥
Orient's Neptune or Triton, no-one actually knows what it is, not even Orient. Unfortunately a weak crown stem has, and is causing no end of issues. Be aware they break and or fall out at an alarming rate 😳
ОтветитьGreat video thank you! I never knew about some of these other watch makers. I LOVE the Helm watches! And the Mini Turtle omg! I’m already a Seiko addict, but I gotta get a mini turtle…thanks again!
ОтветитьThe Hamtun Kraken was an excellent idea. Except the CEO Davis turned out to be a crook and closed up shop, absconding the money from thousands of customers. To date "Just one more watch", nor anyone in the watch world has commented. Hoping the crime committed by a company they recommended will be forgotten.
ОтветитьWhy don't have Citizen in this list?
ОтветитьEveryone, don't ever wear a dive watch with a suit, unless you are a British spy and only if
ОтветитьSolar padi prospex 300 on amazon rn 😳
Ответитьhomage? bahhaahahahahah... cheap knock offs
ОтветитьThanks Jody.
ОтветитьJust one more rant (for me)
It was fun at first looking for a dive watch in this category until I found out makers are obsessed with putting a Pepsi bezel on a black face. They build monstrosities of over 45mm. The style I like is Vostok but the ones I’m interested in have been out of stock for over a year. So I’ve looked and looked and at the end of the day I am still looking. That is all.
Got your first choice the orange Samurai and love it now that I've got rid of that hideous two tone bezel insert and replaced it with a black ceramic one from DLW. A great selection and entertaining video thanks.
ОтветитьHey Jody, I've watched a fair amount of your reviews and recomendations I find them great. They're are always very clear, informative and entertaining and it's nice to see a variety of watches being shown. One thing I struggle to understand (as I'm new to buying watches) is, if you buy an affordable automatic movement watch say less than £500. It's not accurate at all and would need constant resetting as the margin for accuracy seems to be something like -20 / +45 which is a massive margin. Wouldn't you be better off buying a Eco drive / Quartz movement for far less to achieve the accuracy? I know the affordable automatics are very enticing but for the accuracy, I don't think it's worth it.
ОтветитьTo be fair, the reason the price of the skx is so high is because it's for un-modded versions, which let's face it,are seriously rare
ОтветитьHeimdallr do a very nice variation of the 6105, the case is more Turtle than Willard in outline but has the Willard style crown guards. It's from their Custom-made range and comes with either the PT5000 or if you can find one a Swiss made ETA 2824-2. Case finishing is better than the NH35A variations but it's only available on the waffle style rubber strap. The lume is Lumibrite standard, easily visible thru the night. Obviously a bit more expensive and not quite a Captain Willard homage but I think that makes it a little more unique but a bargain for £250 ish for the ETA version which performs within COSC tolerance on my example. The Merkur is also a standout, case is great. Really interesting video, thanks.
ОтветитьHear me out..... Try the the ingersoll scovill with the bronze case. Beautiful watch with alot of bang for the buck.
ОтветитьHi there, I know you reviewed it recently but several of us in my field of work use the new Rotary Super 7 Automatic special edition- we have a very unique front line outdoors job overseas and polish off a ten week rotation with a fortnight's diving. It totally measures up and is good looking, ergonomic and superbly well made. It deserves not to be overlooked. I know the Seiko Atlas strictly speaking isn't a diver, it is an outdoor field watch with diver equivalent specs but it is also another winner- robust and capable, like a Marathon watch at a fraction of the cost!
Ответитьgreat video, as ever! Although you are a bit too metal-bracelet-obsessed for my taste😉! What do you think about WickedWatch company?
ОтветитьOrange face, love it.
Ответитьmini turtle hasn't taken off for some reason ..... It's ugly AF
ОтветитьI found Seiko SKX007J last week and i was just waiting for my salary to
buy it. My heart was broken when i heard that the item was already sold
this morning. It's very hard to find another one without the price
gouging... Is their any other dive watch that can satisfy me under 200
dollars?
Jody! Have you ever had, on your test table, a Nove Trident Automatic?
Ответитьthat samurai might be a dress watch as well
ОтветитьThat Hamton and the Zelios looked amazing 🤩
ОтветитьHands-on experience
I get it.
i have a komodo with a vanuatu bracelet, and i love it.
ОтветитьIslander watches.
ОтветитьStamped clasp or not... Does it matter? Some Rolex models.have a stamped clasp and nobody is complainting about that
ОтветитьJody , have you reviewed the Detroit Mint " captain Willard " homage ? based in the states . Thinking of getting one
ОтветитьHmmm, prices seem to have increased on all these watches.
Ответитьever since mrs k. cöndemned örange i... have my seikö doubtz v v
ОтветитьA bunch of rubish...
ОтветитьUnder $400? You owe it to your life to get an Islander. $300 for sapphire glass, solid links, hand wind, hacks, day/date, ceramic lumed bezel, drilled lugs, milled clasp, and a screw down crown.
ОтветитьIs the shield shaw divers watch worth considering as a reasonable priced watch ? What do you think ?Good vids thanks .
ОтветитьI have the Phoibos you mentioned. Great watch but uncomfortable on my wrist due to the sharp edges. Which of these have the best “fit and finish”? Cheers!
ОтветитьYou forgot a citizen 😊
ОтветитьCheck out Aragon...in particular the Aragon Divemaster 42. Sapphire, NH35, ceramic bezel with good luminous dial and bezel. Bought mine for US$149 on sale from the store site.
ОтветитьLOVE THE SHIRT! Now you are in my neighborhood. Well done great video
ОтветитьI'd be happy to own any of those watches. They're all stunning. If I had to pick 1...Helms Vanuatu.
ОтветитьDid they move Boston to Oz?
ОтветитьIf you’re considering a Seiko Samurai, stop. It easily loses a full minute a day. It’s well-built but if a watch can’t tell the time fairly accurately, it’s worthless.
ОтветитьStarted tuning into your channel a couple days ago and I've been missing watches that I didn't know I needed (want lol). Such beautiful watches!
ОтветитьThanks for the Jomashop store, was looking for a Kamasu and almost purchased one for $299. They are almost $100 cheaper on Jomashop. Thanks
ОтветитьI know you made this awhile ago, but what about the Tisell Sub? Probably the least expensive of this bunch. I have the Submersible, and really like the fit!
Ответить6 1/4" wrist, and I love my Mini-Turtle!
ОтветитьMy very hope there must be somewhere some list of top dive watches not looks like rolex
Ответить
