Buying a car wheel center cap can prevent most scratch damage.
ОтветитьFantastic job mate and well explained.
Ответитьbest DIY auto repair and detailing video on YT...awesome job Chris and thanks from France
ОтветитьJust out of curiosity were u using p80 or just 80 grit???
Ответить1 mistake I made with clear coat in the past was spaying to heavy on 1st or 2nd coat and ending up with micro cracking. Always light spray first coat and work your way up each coat or you'll have issues.
ОтветитьThis gives me hope man. I just bought myself an Infiniti M37XS and the sport wheels on it are hard to find. Unfortunately the previous owner really best them up but after watch this I feel like I am fully capable of fixing and repainting the wheels back to factory paint! Thanks so much dude. First step, take them to a repair shop to get bent back to shape
ОтветитьThis is actually pretty impressive. well done sir!
ОтветитьI like the little tips throughout video, in particular, best technique and application when using a metallic spray paint
Ответитьgreat video!!!!
ОтветитьThis is way over kill
ОтветитьHi Chris. How can I repair already painted wheels that has only 1 or 2 spots? I dont want to paint the whole wheel again. Thanks.
ОтветитьHey Chris , quick question. How many cans of paint and clear would you recommend for a set of four wheels?
ОтветитьAmazing! Thanks for sharing 👏 👏
ОтветитьHow to correct wheel rashes those have clear coat on it?
ОтветитьIts 2023 and I'm back here. Its nice to see the old classics again.
ОтветитьNot done watching yet…. Can I still do this with the tire on?
ОтветитьHow about fixing minor curb rash on wheels that you don't want to take off the car?
ОтветитьSo painful hearing him mispronounce the name of the car so many times. It's JAG-U-er
ОтветитьThis guy is incredible
ОтветитьHi Chris. You released a great paint repair video on a blue car that involved deep scratch and filler repair. I can't find it. Has it been pulled? Can you please direct me to it?
ОтветитьCrazy that non of these products are available to purchase in europe
ОтветитьYou made that look too easy. I'm considering doing this but with pressure washers and power tools.
Ответитьif you're going to try this it would be cheaper just to pay a company who does wheel refinishing, the stuff he shows in the video costs a fortune, that body filler and skim and 2k clear especially will run you 100s of dollars, by that point you might as well get them professionally powdercoated which is much stronger.
ОтветитьWhy isn’t it necessary to sand in between coats?
ОтветитьQuestion after completing the process. The clear coat leaves a very harsh surface. Should I sand it? If so what grit should I use?
ОтветитьTo anyone trying this: I achieved the best effect with three sanding steps in stead of two.
I first sanded and painted two wheels and then did the other two the next day. The first two I sanded with 100 grid and then 400 grid. After painting and drying, they turned out rather matte and a kind of icy silver and feel rough. I decided to put way more effort in sanding the next two wheels. I used 100 grid, 240 grid and then 400 grid, and spend just more time sanding generally this time and really made sure everything was nice and smooth. These two wheels turned out beautifully shiny, a more metallic silver and they are smooth to the touch.
Thank you Chrisfix for this great video! Learned a lot from it, and learned a lot from my own process too.
Biggest lesson: you can not be sloppy on the prepwork - it is the most important part. Don't think you will simply cover and hide imperfections with the layers of paint. No, the paint will only accentuate any imperfections you leave!
You are the best find Chris !! God bless you and keep making these videos …
ОтветитьWill you respond to this 7 yr old video?
ОтветитьIs metal filler the only one we can use?
ОтветитьChris big thank you from England, have watched all videos over the last 6 months. I am a plumber by trade and have just bought and sold my first 2 cars. I am now working on my first 7 seat Opel Zafira and refurbishing some "old" new alloys. Thank you for your content
ОтветитьLove this vid
Gonna do my rims A+
Nice job UK fan
ОтветитьChris you've helped me so many times. Many thanks, brother. I appreciate your service, even if it's something that doesn't feel like a service to you.
ОтветитьThat wheel is same as one on my 2007 accord. My wheels are shredded from previous driver. Thanks for this
ОтветитьHow does the bondo hold up?
Ответитьwouldn’t it be better to paint the rims in a upright position just in case the spray paint spits near the end of the can ? just a thought i’m learning from you great channel
ОтветитьFor people in Europe(Bulgaria to be precise) what is the alternative to the Bondo?
ОтветитьYou are a mine of gold buddy... please don`t stop from what you are doing because you are doing great. This channel is more informative than the any book or tutorial.
We cannot thank you enough for the hard work you are putting into these videos & cars!
Well done nice job from PR
ОтветитьHey what if my my caliper scratched the inside of the wheel just a little bit can I still just sand it down or do I need to replace it?? Anyone who could answer this?
Ответитьidk if this will get answered but how would I get rid of the corrosion off the rims first? It doesn't seem like he had to deal with any so idk if there is any other necessary step.
ОтветитьCan you restore ant paint wheels with tyres on?
ОтветитьPro!
ОтветитьCan I use this same process with black rims ?
ОтветитьCan I still do this if my wheels are alloy? Do I need a specific bondo?
Ответитьnice video this is so helpfull God bless you.
ОтветитьRespect getting your pops a car & nice one at that. Liked and subbed
ОтветитьRip my chrome wheel
ОтветитьMaaaan you kill the game!!!🦾
