Watching the video with the vinegar/baking soda method seems time consuming. What about the finished to your oven, sometimes spraying excess water seeps into the oven glass and causes water spots.

This is literally the worst cleaning method ever! I did this and it was sooo messy, it took forever to clean out all the baking soda, and even after cleaning it all out several times there was still baking soda lining edges everywhere. I could keep spraying vinegar onto it and it would fizz and bubble but never fully went away. Also, don’t scrub around your stove burners with this or it will make your burners not spark. I fixed mine but it took a lot of work. Don’t try this nightmare, get another cleaner.

Does it leave fine sandy grit behind when using a pumice stone that was hard to come off?

Place an old towel, newpaper, etc on floor, to protect floor; as well as less of a mess to clean up.

If your oven has baked on grease, save yourself some time and frustration and buy some oven cleaner from the supermarket. Use a fan and wear a N-95 mask. Baking soda and vinegar might take off new grease but old grease, forget it. I followed several Yputube video and they are just click bait,

The scotch brite will definitely scratch. I always use a soft sponge. I would rather leave some the toughest stains than scratch. Maybe a sharp plastic scraper could do the job, if such a thing exists.

Not all vinegars are the same. You’ll want to use different acid levels for canning, cleaning, cooking, and pest control. It’s an easy internet search to find the correct solution.

The bubbling reaction between baking soda and vinegar is carbon dioxide which can help to lift grease. However according to many chemists, it combined is not the best cleaning agent.

If you are planning to use the Self - Clean on your oven, it is recommended that you don’t. Here is why: For starters, when you bake or broil something, the temperature gets in between 100*F and 550*F. But when you use the Self - Clean, the temperature gets up to 900*F to 1,000*F. And that is very stressful on your appliance. Secondly, if you have not cleaned out any excess spillage of grease at the bottom of the inside of your oven where the bake element is located, the excess grease from previous cooking can catch on fire during the Self - Clean cycle. This grease fire can blow the thermal fuse, destroy the electronic motherboard, and / or even short out the door lock. So when you try to open the oven door when the Self - Clean is over and the oven has cooled down completely, the oven door won’t open. Thirdly, it is going to make your house stink, then when your oven has cooled down completely, you have to come home and wipe out all the ashes which used to be the soils. Finally, many people have to leave their house during Self - Clean. But tell me how safe it is to leave your house when you got your oven turned on that high?! It’s just not safe! Therefore, it’s best not to use the Self - Clean on your oven, but if you must, wipe out any big, oily chunks in your oven first. Then, you can start the Self - Clean cycle on your oven as you would normally.

Here is a tip. Download the manual for your stove and see what the manufacturer recommends for cleaning your stove. Use of Pumice stone will not be recommended because it will put micro scratches on the surface of the stove and will make it harder to clean next time. Put some ammonia in a rimmed glass casserole dish. Put that in your oven and let it sit over night or longer with the door closed. This will dissolve the grease enough to wipe a way with a scratch free sponge. Rinse with a damp towel. For baked on grease and food, wet a paper towel with ammonia and lay it on top of the problem areas and let that sit over night. For your oven door glass, wet a paper towels with ammonia and cover the glass area. Next seal the glass area with saranwrap over the over door, overlapping the saranwrap to create an airtight seal. Leave the door open. This will keep the paper towel wet and seal in the smell of the ammonia. Remove the paper towel and clean up with a damp and a scratch free sponge.

I may have missed this: is there a negative to using this on a self-cleaning oven? There’s always a mess where the door meets the oven floor because the heat doesn’t reach this area.
