I think Arran 10 is also heavily overrated

What is overpriced for Lagavulin 16? I can find it at about $90 USD, but have seen it as high as $120.

Springbank has almost become a meme. It’s not bad… it’s just nowhere near the craziness.

I find it hilarious that on your picture for the video it says Stop buying this Whisky.
Funny enough as in with Fireball the reason it's allowed to have the word "Whisky" on the label and website is because in Canada along with Japan the word "Whisky" is their Trademark in the same way as France uses the word "Conyac" as their Trademark.
When people bitch about fireball what they can't comprehend is Jack Daniel's and many other brands that are 66% ABV + are marked as "Whiskies" which means a entire different thing.

I'm going to some what show my age but Fireball today is really no different then "AFTERSHOCK" was in the 1980's thru 1990's except Fireball doesn't have the sugar crystals we would all chase after the liquor was gone😂😂 Fireball is a "Schnapps" a flavoring agent like "Vermouth" which also contains Alcohol same as every Schnapps on the market.

Regarding the overrating of Springbank I would agree and it is difficult to get. But the Lagavulin 16 it is still possible to get for a good price (in Germany). Just ordered for € 69.99 € (Prime Deal Day).

Well, now that you revealed the alternative whiskies to those overpriced brands, these now will become overpriced. Speaking of overpriced, in Pennsylvania, USA, where I live, a standard bottle of Glenfiddich 12 year is about $70 dollars, US. Unbelievable.

I can agree that Jonny Walker and Macallan are overrated and overpriced, but I'd have to staunchly disagree about Lagavulin, Springbank and Octomore. Lagavulin is currently £65 on Master of Malt, it's still a favourite of mine and that's not a bad price at all, Springbank have a lot of variety at the distillery, all for pretty reasonable prices, and Octomore is one where you'll only get part of the way there with Port Charlotte and the like. I do agree that there are some excellent young distilleries that are kicking ass, Lagg on the Isle of Arran is excellent (and well worth a tour), even their new make spirit is delicious.

I've been to the vast majority of these distilleries despite really disliking whisky. A friend of my wife took it upon himself to find a whisky I liked and he eventually found one I liked which turned out to be over £2000 a bottle.

First scotch I tried was The Macallan 12 YO Triple Cask. Yes, I went of with the popular guy, and while I like that it was smooth, it didn't really blow my socks off like some reviews here on YT and Reddit said. Not bad at all, but left me wanting for something a with a bit more omph to it taste wise.

Next I got a bottle of Aberlour 12 YO, and what a difference. Deep, rich flavours and at a more affordable price. It's one of my go to whiskies now, alongside Aberlour A'bunadh and Laphroaig 10 YO for peated with Highland Park 12 YO Viking Honour at a close second.

Also tried the Lagavulin 16, but for me it's a bit weird. I can't really explain it, but something seems to be missing in the flavour. Not a bad scotch at all, but so far I prefer the Laphroaig 10 YO.

For me this is a weird list, £70-250 to me isnt over priced depending on the quality of the whisky.. its not like im going to open the bottle and finish it in a night as i like to drink a selection of whiskys in a single sitting. When you start looking at over £500 i feel like i'll never try these whiskys and at £750-£20,000+ well... unless i win the lottery i have no chance

First and only rule is never buy anything with the Johnnie Walker name on it. I have no interest in watching this video.

I don't know if I'd necessarily say Lagavulin 16 is overpriced, especially compared to the prices of the other four mentioned. You can get Lagavulin 16 for just under $100USD, at least in my neck of the woods, whereas the other four on the list start at twice that amount.

Johnny Walker Blue has always been overpriced and overrated in my opinion. It's the one everybody buys when they finally get that nice high paying job and want to feel classy. For that price there are so many amazing whiskys to buy instead though.
