Is it always possible to repair windows ?

is it also possible to do an in place upgrade by booting from the windows dvd ? is a lisence key needed to do that?

My question is are my shortcuts and desktop options going to disappear? Are my programs going to uninstall and registry put back to vanilla? Will my software have to be dragged out of windows old to work again?

So, I need Windows 10 to be working in order to repair it?

Three decades you could do an in-place upgrade without booting into the Windows that is not working, but you scum changed it now?

Why is in place upgrade not allowed from the dvd / usb ?. I am unable to boot to windows because windows upgrade caused an issue with the bcd and I am unable to fix it. It doesn't detect windows installation and now the last resort is an inplace upgrade.

Good day. This didn't work for me. Everything seemed to be going fine, but when the final "installing Windows 10" reached 60%, it bombed out and put everything back to how it was before I started. I tried it twice, first with my normal log in (on which I do have administrator rights) and without disabling AVG Internet Security. I then did it again, logged in as administrator and with AVG removed, but got exactly the same result both times. The following message is displayed:
We couldn't install Windows 10
We've set your PC back to the way it was right before you started installing Windows 10.

I have Windows 10 Pro, Version 1903 (OS Build 18362.720), originally upgraded from Windows 7. I would add that it has had a problem doing the Windows updates, especially the feature updates, for quite some time. The feature updates always fail.

I am weary about doing this. I have an old hardrive that I put in this computer with an old windows install on it. Since then I deleted that old windows install on the old harddrive. But for some reason it still has old "Program x86" on there. I don't know if this will effect the upgrade install, could someone give me an answer please?

Hi I followed all the steps that are in this video but sadly after going through all of it...it says "This PC can't be upgraded to Windows 10." "Your PC isn't supported yet on this version of Windows 10. Update will automatically offer you this version of Windows 10 once the issue has been resolved." Please help :((

Windows 10 = CRAP

I want to say that this procedure in this video works seamlessly if done how explained. I have been having update issues and some other minor issues for months. After the in-place upgrade, everything is running perfect again. None of my files were lost and all my settings remained intact. Thank you very much for posting this video. Just a side note, after completing this process on this video, you will have an extra folder on your C: drive named Windows.old. I suggest before running windows disk cleaner and system file clean up, you run your computer for a week or so to make sure everything is working correctly. Once your ok with the fix, run your Windows disk cleaner and the additoinal system file clean up and the Windows.old folder will be remove for good. Good Luck

I have a problem with Windows Security Virus & threat protection updates. The time shown for "Last update" run is 10 hours ahead of when the "Last update" is actually done, i.e. 10 hrs in the future. The system time is accurate. I have Windows 10 Home 1809 and have for a couple of months have many failed attempts to update to 1909. Previous attempts to update to 1903 also failed. I am wondering if this time discrepancy on "Last Update" is causing the update failure and would like to know if anyone knows how to fix the Virus & threat protection "Last Update" time discrepancy?

I have a tip for fixing a problem with Microsoft Windows. 1). Turn off your Microsoft Windows computer. Disconnect the power cable. Drop the computer into a recycling box and never buy another item with this piece of shit software ever again. Windows Updates have been corrupting my PC each end every time. Calling support is of no use. They put you on hold and rhbe hang up on you. What a shit show.

Hello,if anybody is reading this,i got windows update error 0x80070424 by a virus,after i reactivated bitdefender(it was deactivated) i deleted the file,i did scanning,some other things,and everithing seemd to be working until i want to see if there are any updates to do,and i discover this error,i didn't see anything changing with other utilitys,because i got some services deleted,if this works,i'm going to subscribe to this channel .
