I really hope the reason is because valve realized how lack luster the merch was so they are redoing the whole website from the ground up and making actual good merch

I was looking at the tf2 shop recently and none of the cool stuff was there anyway such as figurines, posters, mousepads. It was all t-shirts and most were sold out.
