Just a correction, Peneda Jeres is one of the many natural parks that exist in Portugal. Several other places are world heritage being Parque da Pena, Sintra (Feather park) one of the most famous.

I've been in love with Portugal for at least 12 years so far. Last year I even moved do Porto, however I had to come back to my country for tax reasons 😢 Still, I'm ploting my comeback and in the meantime I just visit Portugal whenever I can. I give you a few other names for you to discover in the Douro Valley and Trás-Montes region.
There are a few villages that MY GOD:
- Vila Nova de Foz Côa (a UNESCO Heritage Site) with its Paleolithic Stone Carvings alongside the river valleys and vineyards, and a beautiful futuristic/ancient/alien Museum carved in the hill;
- Pitões das Júnias (go by Car in the winter) actually inside the Gerês National Park;
- Gimonde (go by Car in the winter) quite a bit east;
- Onor (even further east, near my name's small city of Bragança);
- the stairs of the Varosa Dam (quite a bit further south);
- the cliffs of the Douro near the Spanish border aka International Douro Natural Park (by boat);
- Vilarinho de Negrões (it's like Scotland meet Japan, only it's not, and in better weather) near Gerês.

A Very good video indeed. The light, angles, the prespective, it gives a very good sense of the place.

I know you don´t have the "C" with cedile aka Ç... but Açores with "Z"? It's supposed to make a "SS" sound, not a Z sound. English writers use Z because they don´t have Ç, ok. But at least you could write it "Assores"... It's supper inapropriate, but at least would be the right pronunciation.

Gosh - I just got home from Portugal a few weeks ago - looks like I'll have to plan another visit! It's such a beautiful country.

"Ever since I've arrived here, my Portuguese friends told me..." is what makes the difference between a tourist and a visitor. While the tourists stay in their resort with fellow citizens, familiar food and guided tours, visitors come in respect & appreciation, make new friends- and learn to know the really amazing places.

Just for the people that think Douro river crosses Porto... The actual city is just on the north bank of Douro. On the south one, it's Gaia... another beautiful city. Currently, there are six bridges connecting the two cities. In fact, Porto and Gaia are the two European cities with the most bridges (since they share them). Also... Porto is the city that named Portugal and is also known as Invicta (which means "invincible").

It's "Açores": <ç> is always pronounced as /s/, as in "<s>auce" and "pa<ss>ed".
