No ones prob gonna answer this because this is ages later, but when I save the text as a python file (.py) the notification doesn't come up and just stays as a text file. Is there a way for me to change the file manually?

Go to Python and Choose the Stable version for ur windows then install it And Try to run in cmd if its not working go in system edit and Variuel Edit then go on path Paste Python27 Then its done refresh the cmd and Enjoy

How can we do the same directly in cmd, if you add something more than a few lines you won't be able to run it. Like when can't run if commands, at least I can't, thanks for the help.

If you cannot do this, maybe it's the file name extension, i mean.. in the part of the video where you have to rename the text document, and you rename it and the warning alert doesn't appear, you have to change the file name extension properly.

instead of doing python --version you just type "python" and it will give you the info of the version you have and if there is >>> at the end you know you did it right

Why doesn't mine work when i put "py"

If RENAME Warning is not shown, you didn´r change file extension. Open File Explorer, click "View" and check "File name extensions" box (Windows 10). After that you will be able to rename your script properly.
