I bought the game but I want to start with BL2. do I have to complete Borderlands 1 first because am not seeing the option to switch?

Borderlands 3 doesn't exist for me. It didn't become what I wanted it to be, so I have my own head-canon for what happened after the Pre-Sequel + Tales from the Borderlands.

Are the BL1 DLCs included as well?

What's the difference between the Legendary Collection and the Handsome Collection?

One is full retail and the other can be found on the cheap.

I, Tom, had many games to play on my Hard drive, but was having intense fun with Borderlands # 1. I ignored everything until I bought everything else available in the "Borderlands" franchise: You will maybe do the same thing.
I wouldn't be as enthusiastic about this game if it wasn't great fun, fearless and capable of keeping you without sleep...

What you need to know is that the games aren't on the cart, only part of them, and they are unplayable if you don't download the rest of each game.

ok guys, but what about borderlands 3 on nintendo switch?

Can we all remember how the pre-sequel was a massive ripoff, especially for those who pre-ordered more expensive versions to get all the “dlc”. We were promised four story dlc packs and instead we got 1 story dlc, 2 vault hunters and 1 headhunter pack. It was a complete disrespect to be promised the same effort BL2 had and then told we weren’t getting the rest of what we paid for.

Having these three games on Switch is a dream come true. I jumped into 2 first to experience all the holiday themed headhunter packs and, my favorite content, theTiny Tina DLC. I'm a big fan of all three though and feel they all have their strengths and unique qualities. Hopefully you guys patch 2 for those that can't play it. It's working great for me though and I'm glad I can start characters at level 30 again like on PC.

What you need to know, the game cannot currently be played on switch if you were one of the unlucky few who downloaded the DLC, instead they’ll put this game on sale so people buy it, and when the dlc is no longer free they’ll fix the game and be like all better now go ahead and purchase the downloadable content it works now!
