After I made the BIOS changes here and saved and exited, my computer only shows a black screen now on startup 😅

I've been hard stuck as to why the hell I could not find my nvme m.2 drive for the last 2 years and you've cleared it up in all of 5 minutes. Thanks man, you've more than earned this sub.

Thanks for the video. Ive been trying to get this done for 3 hours... reading reddit and being told it was the mobo or the nvme. I knew it was just bios but didn't know exactly what. Thanks a TON!!! 😅

Old videos still more helpful than newer ones

You utterly saved my shit man.
I had a borked install from installing win11 onto a nvme drive when I had others plugged in including old win10. It ran fine until I deleted the old boot partition, then I lost my ability to boot windows 11.
Had to nuke the partition (not a huge deal but annoying) and reinstall with these instuctions and it worked. Cheers.

I have a notebook ASUS N751JX-T7034H, serial number F4N0BC00321214C.

The laptop came with a 256GB Samsung SM951 PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, and I bought a disk just like the original one, but with 512gb of capacity.

I've already done a root installation based on a pen and with windows 10, and wrote everything in the m2...

But the bios does not recognize the new 512gb m2, why?

The laptop does not start, as soon as it connects/restarts it goes straight to the bios and does not leave.
I've updated the bios with the latest software, I've tried several other m2 disks of various brands and models, and nothing, the result is always the same!

The bios doesn't recognize more than the m2 that came with the laptop.
what did Asus do to make this being recognized and no other being?
Can you help me ?
Thanks

Hi there,

so here's my position. PC has been running fine, but upon having a power cut the other day, when turning my pc back on, the BIOS screen loaded instead of the operating system (windows), I turned the pc off and on again and windows loaded up first time, no issues. Several days later, I use my PC again, works as normal, but the following day, after loading the pc and using it for about an hour or so, it crashes and takes me to that same BIOS screen. But this time, turning my pc off and on again brings me back to my BIOS and not to my usual Window's login screen. My M.2 NVME is not showing up in the UEFI BIOS, which is where my operating system is installed onto, but my 2 SSD's and HDD do show up. I have taken out the NVME as a precaution and re-installed it but to no luck. Might clearing the Secure Boot Keys help with this, or do I need to look elsewhere? Any help would be hugely appreciate as I use my PC for my business daily. And if I were to clear the keys, can they be restored at some point?

Regards,

Greg

Thanks

I don't know why, but after the first restart, my BIOS simply doesn't recognize my NVME as a bootable drive, but still recognize as a storage drive. So, I'm unable to continua installation, the computer simply comes back to BIOS after restarting.

Besides that, some of the options you mention on the video like "OS Type" simply doesn't exist in my BIOS. I have an AS Rock B450M Steel Legend motherboard.

The problem that I am having is that my system is not booting windows on its own. It shows that it is on my SSD in the bios but it does not boot on its own. In order to access windows I must do an override boot. This is the same for when I insert the usb drive with windows on it, my system doesn’t automatically start up the windows installation process , I have to override boot to the drive that windows is on in order to start it. I just want windows to boot up on its own and I don’t know what to do anymore. I even changed the boot priorities in my bios to windows boot manager and it’s still not starting up on its own. Please help I am lost.

I have followed the steps, but I'm prompted of an error of "driver needed by the computer is missing. etc...". Can you share any idea why it won't proceed with Windows 10 installation? Thanks for any information you can share.

I'm new using NVME SSD. Does Windows 10 "have" to be installed on it using UFEI? Can you just clone Windows 10 to it from another drive? I really want to do it the "right" way. Thanks.

Hi, first of all great video - it was exactly what I'm looking for and very easy to follow. However, after I install windows 10 on my m.2/after CSM is disabled in BIOS, it no longer recognizes the m.2 and I can't boot to it. The m.2 was functioning perfectly before as a storage drive, but now I can't boot windows on it.

Why do BIOSs have to be so complicated?! It suppose to make things work. I think my computer only boots in EUFI mode. I can set secure boot or not, but CSM. Windows OS installation just crashes.

Ok so I have a Question.

The Laptop I'm going to buy already have M.2 SSD installed on it but it uses NVMe slot.

Meanwhile the Laptop's Motherboard have extra M.2 slot but it can only be used for SSD (don't have NVMe capability).

If I move the SSD that came from factory from NVMe slot to M.2 non-NVMe slot, can I install Windows in that SSD?

Because I'm planning to use the M.2 NVMe slot for eGPU docking.

I have followed the instructions religiously and I come as far as installation of Windows 10 and rebooting to get into BIOS UEFI where unlike the video I can’t find my NVME under boot priority. So Windows installation doesn’t proceed.
By trial and error I figured out that the only way to have the nvme list under Boot Priority is to enable CSM with Boot Device Priority as both UEFI and Legacy. But this is not a solution that is when computer reboots, it still can’t continue windows installation. Any suggestions are most appreciated.

When i do the windows installation and my pc restarts and i go into the Bios, there is no SSD, only the USB-Stick and when i start that again, it does the exact same thing as before with the difference that he wants to do a Windows.old folder. That goes on and on and on.
I tried to update the Windows installer but it happened again and the Bios has the same settings as yours.
Is it the ASUS Rog B450-F that does not work with my NVMe? I have the Samsung 970 EVO Plus.
Can someone help me out please?
I dont know how to fix it.
