Can we create folders inside Power Bi Workspace?

I want to create a group workspace, I have admin access pro licence in power bi premium capacity. But I'm unable to find the group workspace option under Workspace section. Any specific tenant setting need to enable??

Hi Adam. Really helpful video thank you. If I publish my report to AppSource to allow third parties to have access, can they see the report or query designs. ie can they see my "intellectual property"?

One question though : by distributing content to your read-only users through the app permissions, do you necessarily forfeit using RLS? In other words, if I want to use RLS, do I need to have everyone as viewer role in the workspace?

A question, do you need to have a Power BI Pro license to view apps and contant inside the app if the app is created through Power BI?

Want to know if you can create sub folders in the app workspace or any workspaces in that matter. Eg if I have an HR dept and I want to create subfolders for recruiting, payroll etc under that HR umbrella , just so I can restrict the access to those specific dept. I dont' see that option and I am a pro user

hello i always find your video helpful. i have question every time i publish a report from PBI desktop to PBI service my report sometimes doubled and the one i used in pinning the report is not replaced with new one. Can you explain why? Thank you in advance.

Hi, thanks for the video. I wonder about Dashboard's inside workspaces. Will they exist in the future? In my organisation > 100K people we have tons of workspaces and reports but never seen Dashboiard in use. Also It's hard to find any yt movies on this subject.

Thanks for the great video. I have a question with regards to permissions in a Workspace vs permissions in an App. I have five users who have access to a Workspace, two are Admins and three are members. The three that are members do not need to be in the Workspace as they are not creating dashboards or reports. I then create my App and give all five users access to the App. But when I remove the three users from the Workspace permissions list (using Edit this Workspace) since they now have access to the App, they no longer have access to the Workspace SharePoint site, which means they have to added back to the Workspace. I don't understand this concept. My requirement is that the three users should have access to the App and the SharePoint site but not have access to the Workspace. Is this possible?

I have a Workspace where I create business content, that I publish to an APP for the user in the business to consume the content.
I have some users that want to be able to create their own reports. What is the best way to achieve this please?
I do not want them to clutter my nice pristine workspace with their reports which might then get published to the businesss APP.


I thought perhaps I should create another workspace with the same dataset to allow them to mess about as much as they like, but it cannot get to the APP.


What do you advise please?

Hi Adem, got a question here. I have 2 modern app workspaces, one containing a data set that is refreshing 8 times a day. The second workspace contains a report that I created based on the first workspace dataset. I create an app based on the second workspace and distribute that to the organisation. I get reports from people not being able to consume/view the reports that were shared to them through the app. This is resolved for those users when they are added of the first and second workspaces... sounds like a bug if I listen to your videos on the topic (this is video 5 I'm viewing just to let you know). Hope you can shed some CubeLight on this matter.

Definitely needed new roles in the workspace. Looking forward to future improvements as well.

They need to get that Reader role. That's key, so waiting for that as it was out, but I am guessing it didn't work as it didn't work for us as they had edit rights...PBIX's with live connections. We need reader role for PBIXs with Live connections to be able to view the PBIX's.

It’s confusing. Why let us share from My Workspace if we shouldn’t? I’ll get it eventually once we expand, but for now, I’m sharing from my workspace for initial users.

When will the reader feature be out and pushed to the Government tenant?

Just to add, the new app workspace do not have usage matrices yet. Might come In Apr to Sep timeframe.

Is there a way to join 2 Tables on 2 or more columns in Power BI table1.x = table2.x and table1.y = table2.y ? I can only use one relationship in the relationship view.A second one will always be inactive. Thanks!

I'm an independent consultant and I wanted to know your view on the best way to share the end reports with my clients...do I share it from my personal Power BI account or is it better to ask my clients to create an Pro account within their tenant for me and work from there.

Nice video would also like to see how analyst will actually collaborate in the creation of content.. What type of version control and coordination is there since must development will be done on the desktop application . Also would like to see how after sharing if someone wants to re use a report and add to it.. Does he have to be part of the app workspace? Even if say he just wants to customize report to his needs?
