The D-45 is a nod to the Dominoes' historic performance at London's Lyceum Amphitheatre in 1970.
ОтветитьDid not expect to see a Cinelli Super Corsa in the background. Now you know why he and Ginger jokingly named the second Cream album
Disraeli Gears.
Filmed on an iPhone
ОтветитьSounds great!
Ответитьwish they had upgraded the top from Sitka
Ответитьplayed this guitar a few days ago here in gc nyc was impressed ! lovely chunky neck like the 00028 ec model...sounded as good as anything in the room!!!
Ответитьimagine an australian like tommy emmanuel picked it up, he would have ripped the bags out of it, looks like eric doesnt play acoustic guitars tbh
ОтветитьI'm happy that Eric was humble, appreciative, and told a story of how much he loved Marrin guitars.
Ответить60 percent more for madagascar rosewood...what a scam. The cost of the back and sides blanks is not a significant factor in the overall cost of the entire guitar. Indian back and sides go for around a 100 and madagascar around 250. the cost of the guitar goes up a few grand though. Highway robbery. It is why not many people can afford a good guitar anymore.
ОтветитьWould you mind taking your shirt off first, please?
ОтветитьMartin should make the 00042ec and 00045ec guitars as part of their standard collection like the 00028ec as they are doing for a long time already.
ОтветитьI love the fact that his Jean jacket buttons are just scraping the shit out of this guitar
ОтветитьGreat guy, great writer and singer and guitarist but that was pretty shoddy playing
ОтветитьOK, so the Madagaskan rosewood is, er, well, yeah, more expensive?
ОтветитьWe love the Clapton, we love the Martin's.
ОтветитьI just go by square footage to value a guitar. I just count the number of strings and their length. Eric Clapton doesn't appreciate the fans he had when he started enough. People used to actually find out what gear artists use and how they make the sounds. They used to listen to records several times to try and find more value. Someone that owns a guitar shop and also got a degree in classical guitar complained about the degree. They look at every little detail of your playing including fingernail length and condition. But then someone walked into his store and asked "why is this guitar 120 dollars and the one at walmart is only 50? and walked out." then he bought 50 dollar chinese guitars to sell like an idiot instead of learning or training people in how to find value in the guitar.
you see it even more in real estate because people just look at zillow or look at square footage. and you see it in the the donald trump appraisel trial because he lied about square footage. but can any of them identify value in a house? that's what i worked in, and they can't because it's all idiot bankers and whore agents. The just try to buy more, and think that if they buy everything something valuable will be there. even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.
For guitar i guess they just have a book of guitar values and i think that's what guitar shop guy does and then he knows the secret handshake.
What a legend.
ОтветитьThe first guitar setup buzzed like hell!
ОтветитьEric ain't hardly doing well here or anytime lately. He should wake up and realize that the 'younger' guys he wraps himself with can't play their way out of a burlap sack. Neither 'Derek trucks, Doyle Bramhill the whatever, or that jerk with all the tattoos up his arm can play, write or sing a song. They're only there because E.C. thinks they make HIM look irreplaceable. He actually is but he's often wasting our time, and he's damned inarticulate. E.C. should realize that many of us are just as irreplaceable, and are not at all amused by his anti-vax B.S. or his failure to pay Rita Coolidge for writing the coda to Layla which she'd recorded before she played it for him. There's much, much more, but that's enough for now.
ОтветитьLike a fine wine... he just gets better with age!
ОтветитьAfter watching this video and thinking to myself wow this is the Eric Clapton (guitar legend) fantastic musician who's been everywhere and has played with the best of the best on the biggest stages that ever existed for decades and world famous super wealthy etc...and yet what you see in this video is a humble gentleman. Truly amazing!
Ответитьtoo bad high Q lav mics weren't used, EC is such a treasure!!!! .... and I used to think it was me when a guitar was difficult to play, even after adjusting everything to spec, or my preference, glad he also has that issue, so I know that it's prob the guitar, and not me, I know Martins are supposed to be far more consistent, but I've had better luck with Gibsons, in electrics too compared to Fender guitars
ОтветитьEric Clapton is a true Legend! I am currently trying out three different Martin Guitars. The D-18, D-28, and the D-35. It is so hard to choose between any of these. I will only be getting one for now. But, it’s has been quite challenging to decide on one when all of them sound amazing to me. I am slightly leaning towards the D-28. It has been two months thus far. I should be to make a decision ready by this upcoming Christmas.
Ответитьクラプトンはアコースティックギターのフィンガーピッキングはそんなに上手くない。
ОтветитьThese strange collaborations!
Why the need for these strange interviews?
For a show about sound and acoustics perhaps you could have got a professional audio recordist?
ОтветитьGood to see Eric looking and sounding well.
ОтветитьGood to see Eric playing again after the jib poison 💉
Ответитьmaybe in better hands if Tommy Emmanuelle plays it...
ОтветитьThat guy with the guitar seems to know what he's doing. Sounds pretty damn good.😁
ОтветитьEvery time I see Eric, he looks older...
ОтветитьShame these musical tools are sooo expensive...
ОтветитьHow about guitar center do some videos of giving out guitars to an under funded public school music education program instead of presents for Eric Clapton?
Ответить$16K I'll take 3
ОтветитьHit the groove by crossroads song
ОтветитьCream high distortion
ОтветитьGuy giving the guitars seems nervous. I probably would be too.
ОтветитьEric's still very good, though...
ОтветитьRight. Now give them to someone who can actually still play......and,you know, isn't one of the biggest racist ego-maniacs on the planet.
ОтветитьEric is a great artist/guitar player. But there's many blues guitarist that can play circles around him. Blues guitarist you've never heard of.
ОтветитьI remember when Clapton played Guild.
ОтветитьClapton regularly offers to do gigs for other AA intergroup members, taking up to £100 a ticket to allegedly cover expenses. (One night in Guilford equated to over 60k), then he never turns up. He's done it multiple times over the last three decades.
ОтветитьI was at that first Derek and the Dominoes gig with Dave Mason. I believe it was at the Lyceum. After going to the Isle of Wight festival '70 and seeing Jimi for the second time about three weeks later after he died, I saw the Dominoes in Liverpool and it was like a different band, An absolutely amazing performance and the English crowd went totally apeshit, as I did. Great seeing Eric still so on top of his game.
ОтветитьSlow hand is my religion.
ОтветитьSo cool to hear that he didn’t even really know much about the different tone woods. Goes to show that actually playing and learning your instrument takes you way further than obsessing over Indian, Madagascar or Brazilian.
ОтветитьInteresting. The Madagascan Rosewood immediately sounded batter than the first one - brighter and more responsive!
ОтветитьAnyone else feel like the gentleman presenting the guitars was not prepared to answer tonewood questions coming from Eric reguarding the madagascar rosewood? Just something fun i noticed lol
ОтветитьHe is overrated
