i'd only seen snippits of their name in Kerrang! turns out they were support for a gig (i THINK enter shikari, as i seen them twice with various support), my 15 y/o brain was blown away when i heard this one come on, it was like the sound of overcoming and triumph but in metal format, like i always remember it sounded like 'a guy at the bottom of a mountain, scaling it and returning to his ancestors at the tops' and thats how i described it to my parents and uncle.
My uncle brought me (as it was under 16y/o accompanied by adult) he's likes good bitta rock, he knew this was a bit harder stuff, but said he'd "seen Dire straits 3 times and thin lizzy a load" but after, came to say to my family every time it has been brought up at get togethers - "they would rival some of the bests gigs, with their energy, cuz sum bands would kinda have a 'drunk day' (when here in N.ireland apparently back in the day) so was common to see bands play hungover or sloppy". each time, said they played their heart and soul like it was their last gig. turns out my uncle is a bigger fan than me and went n seen them in manchester to show my auntie, who....did not get it lol but he said it was just like ours, played their soul out
