Mr. Tenold, after reviewing dozens of cult movies, I'm surprised that you haven't bothered to discuss the most popular cult movies around, like Cannibal Campout and Splatter Farm, just to name two. Do you plan on reviewing any of the more iconic cult horror movies in the future or do your tastes lean more towards the sci-fi kinds?

I know I'm a little late, but I just discovered upon your series a short while ago. And thanks for pointing out the Blue Monkey movie. I saw it a long time ago and never seemed to be able to find it on IMDB. BTW, "Die Säge des Todes" means "The Saw of Death" (don't know if that was already mentioned in the comments). Apparently the DVD was intended for the German market and also contained the English audio track.

I've seen A LOT of Franco's filmgraphy, and I too don't get why he disowned this one specifically, I mean this is cliched and cheesy, but not much more than a lot of his work and this is a lot less weird and sleezy than a lot of his other stuff which is pretty much porn under cover of genre films or genre/porn disguised as art house. Did he disown any other one of his besides this one?

This movie could have been so much better if Miguel was depicted as being legitimately sane after those five years (they could have changed the opening scene somehow to depict him having an isolated psychotic episode). More emphasis on the gaslighting/blaming of Miguel could have been really effective, especially considering how much he loves his sister.

Watching this in the first week of 2024, when everyone and their dog is making a Mickey Mouse horror movie now

Came here after learning about “Steamboat Willie” Mickey Mouse becoming public domain, and the resulting new slasher movie to come this year, “Mickey’s Mouse Trap”, which seems to be a combination of FNAF, Scream, and a little bit of this movie, in that the killer is dressed up as Mickey Mouse.

Uncle Jess was ahead of his time. 😄
