How to upgrade weapons correctly - Cyberpunk 2077

So, I've just finished watching "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners", and I need to ask you for a favor:
Can you please use the first weapon you upgrade after watching this video to annihilate Adam Smasher?

I'm glad I found this video and thank you for showing and talking about how to do it the correct way,that makes a lot of sense because some games you have to upgrade it then craft a new one and upgrade that to get more HP or DBS...

My melee weapons aren’t showing up in upgrades. And it doesn’t have a tier.

My i5 8GB RAM Nvidia GTX 960 I got in 2018 never ceases to amaze me in how well it runs the game. Very likely because I clean the 5/7 fans (2 I don't plug in because they started getting noisy) every 4 months. I just mean compared to you peepz with your fancy comps and your fast loading times.
Sure I can only run it at 30-40 fps on the very lowest settings across the board but still running smooth.

That aside SUPERB video mate! I already played the game through as Streetkid but now playing as Corpo "Rat" Ninja. I'm sure this will help me out A LOT!

I have no idea how to craft and upgrade... the option is blocked on my character ??

great vid, new player here, weapon system is little confusing , I wonder if at the start of the game do I update stuff that good sub stats or do I just keep selling them and whenever I find higher dps weapons. I would like to play a throwing knife/silenced handgun ( hitman like) set up but I dont know if I can start going out early on ( lvl 17, 23 street cred) and start finding specific type of weapons or I should just ignore it for now and keep selling low dps stuff or can I strat investing into epic tier at this low lvl? will I be able to updrgade up or is it waste of meterails to upgrdade them up?

That's actually completely wrong, it doesn't work in a way you say. Upgrading it before making legendary is absolutely same as upgrading it after making legendary. The difference in damage was due to attack speed. Second time, Satori got 5 attack speed and first time only 2.91. Meanwhile first got 600% crit damage and second one only 500%, making second version actually WORSE. And since attack speed is capped at 5 and boosted to five anyway using Cool perks and hand implants, that difference just disappears anyway. So video shows basically nothing, you literally made better katana and then changed it to worse one after save-load stat reroll.

Has the game been updated? It doesn't work like that for me.
I just tried with both Lizzie and Satori and I ended up with the exact same DPS whether I 1) gradually upgraded the weapon in its own tier (rare -> epic -> legendary) to the max before crafting it to the following tier and then upgrading it again, OR 2) by directly crafting it to the next tier and then upgrading it one last time as legendary. Satori ends up at 1,516 DPS in both cases, although I certainly use less parts when I craft directly.
FYI I play level 1.63, and I'm on level 50 / 50 Street Cred, 20, 20, 20 on Body, Reflex and Technical.

Thank you for this info, planned on starting another game since got tired of last one being stuck in a scene no matter what I did. Can only hope all these updates/patches they've done the last few months has that FN spot fixed.

So... We just we need do it double times this is so stupid....
I see this earlier why my weapons are worst after the "upgrade"....

You should do a updated video because for some reason I upgraded dying night at common to max and then went to rare and then when I tried upgrade I could only do it once. I have max crafting and max level which means I should be able to upgrade it further but I can't. If I go from common to next rarity and upgrade it does the same thing which means I lose damage, dps and effected increase in stats. I could be my game is bugged because of the updates. Perhaps start a new game and see if it does the same thing.

Is there any drawback to upgrading to legendary when your low level or will you be able to upgrade as u go and it will be as powerful as it would be had you upgraded it to legendary at level 50

I don't get the upgrading system at all. My legendary overture is at lvl 28 upgraded to max lvl possible and a new one at the vendor has 70 dps more.
Seems that upgraded weapons are generally weaker.
Even every now new crafted legendary weapon is way stronger than the exact same weapon upgraded over time to max
