I you look at Maxxis website, the "Performance Ratings" have the DHF and DHRII like this, Rolling Speed: DHF 3/DHRII 2.5; Cornering Control: DHF 3.5/ DHRII 4; Braking Traction: DHF 2.5/DHRII 4. Thses numbers are correct - I triple checked. So by Maxxis's admission, the DHRII is the slower rolling, better cornering, and better braking tire although everyone uses it in back. And, I've read that the "R" stands for "Rear" while the "F" stands for "Front"). It sure does seem like the DHF makes a better rear while the DHRII a better front. What am I missing?

The Cornering Transition Suks On The DHF at the 10 or 2 O'clock Other Than That Its GOOD .... I have a 2.5 DHF on the Front of My CF Warden . Changing To a 2.5DD Assegai Next 😎 Ride Vancouver

Down Hill Front or Down Hill Fun is what I thought it was meant, and Down Hill Rally or Down Hill Rear, is none of this correct?

This video is so confusing and directly flies in the face of what maxxis claims. Are their claims stupid? Maxxis very clearly advertises the DHF as a faster rolling tire designed as a front tire and the DHR2 as a higher braking tire designed for the rear.

DHR 2 Front and rear (29X2.6). You have enough turning grip anyway.

I just put the DHR II's on my bike because its an entry level hardtail and the I got 2.4s and the 2.5 DHF would have been too wide for my fork and also rims. Great Video!

So basically it's a African pedigree tire. Like a pedigree bicycle 10 times higher but neverwood road by any body famous. The end of the day a tire is a tire a bike is a bike yeah some are built better but not that much better than a Walmart bag talking price wise for what you get from pipe to pipe

Tyres don't make much difference off road. Neither do high priced bikes. The bicycle industry is full of hype.

By Maxxis own admission the DHF rolls slower, allegedly. Most people (including myself) have used the DHF as a front for years just because that's what we've always done. But I am just about to switch to DHR II both front and rear because I've only read good things about it as a front.

Like them so far. Seem to be just as good as my schwalbe magic Mary and big Betty combo or my vee tires I had.

I rode DHF for over 3000 miles and loved it. I just mounted the DHRII and took it for a short ride. First impression was that it felt like it cornered better and the bike felt more nimble. Will do some more extended rides and submit my findings at a later time.

Watching hours films about tyres and I think I will ride naked rims 😉😄 so hard to choose.
Doesn't R stand for rear and F for front in Minion DHx ?
Do I have to come back to MAXXIS catalogue ? 🤔

I have 2 Kenda Nevegal on my DH bike, but the rear one is finished. I want to buy a DHR II because Maxxis says that the DHF is for the front and the DHR II is for the rear. The problem is that I have a 26x2.50 tyre and the DHR II 26x2.50 doesn't exist but the DHF yes. So can I put the DHF in the rear tyre?
