The only thing you could have done differntly with this video is a better recording of your voice, but that's a insignificant point compared to the information you provide.

I didn't even know android added a safe mode. I knew about removing accessibility and admin access if possible. Personally I'm weary about all third party apps I still install them every now and then but I use common sense and tend to stick to f-droid.

You can still install from 3rd party sources you just have to be careful and not be dumb .and a good anti virus can helps out alot.
