LEARN TO DRAW IN 30 DAYS! (exercises + schedule)

December will be the month you learn to draw, this is IT. 30 days to go from "trash" to "alriight alrright" :D Took a while to put this plan together but I'm pretty stoked with it, it's quite solid if I dare say so myself. Give it a shot! Results guaranteed.

Just finished day 30! This was a great way to break in my pen tablet; I ended spending a good amount of time on some of these exercises. Very proud of my improvement, will definitely be looking forward to the 1 year exercise plan next!

Just spent 45 mins doing day 01.
I have no idea what I'm doing but here's to starting the process!
I've bookmarked every single day's activity in my computer's calendar too to help keep me on track!

If this turns out well I'll definitely buy that course of yours, I'd LOVE to be able to draw... but that's getting ahead of myself, for now it's time to see if this 30 day thing can make me at least semi-able lol.

I’ve been drawing mostly self taught for 2 1/2 years and I’ve done pretty well but I’m here to see what I’m missing on fundamentals.

last time i draw was 15 years ago and my drawing after this challenge were shit and my skills didn't improve at all but at least it was a start. Im gonna keep learning how to draw but damn the feeling that everything sucks doest leave me. I guess ill have to live with it

Finished this today. What a great little challenge.
I was looking for something after finishing drawabox, and while most of this is taught in that, it was nice to zoom over the main points again.
Going to do the year plan video next, can't wait!

I finished all 30 days, they're not as good as yours obviously but it really helped out with learning the basics. It helped out with building confidence and understanding some fundementals. Fuck hands

Well, day 2 for me. I try to do at least 30 minutes to 1 hour per day. I will come to let my experience in day 30, see you then.

On day 20, I'm really happy with this video to guide me through. Some pieces are good and some not so good that I produce. I work about 55-60 hours a week, so I think drawing is a hobby that I can actually take to with my limited spare time and family. I'm really thankful to Marc for giving me the structure to improve.

I still keep drawing circles though. That's a tough skill to perfect.

Starting Day 1 today. Hope i actually stick to this. If i remeber i will edit this if i finish.
Day 1: My circles are so bad. Haha... Save me
Day 2: Badly drawn overlapping circles
Day 3: It looks a bit better
Day 4: The shadows look...rough

30 days... DONE!! This is probably the biggest streak I've ever done drawing!! My skull on day 30 turned out so great!! I will keep this streak up with my own artworks/studies! I will work hard to achieve my dream of getting extremely good at art <3

Okay. Let's do this! Going to edit it every day. Let's see what progress is made (if any.. I'm pretty unspectacular when "art" is the subject.)
Day 1: My circles look like pizza pie that I've made homemade myself, in other words, they aren't circular.
Day 2: My circles are starting to look a little like actual circles. Not too much trouble drawing overlapping circles, but definitely complete beginner level.
Day 3: I had to go back and practice staying in the lines with curved scribbles. A few circles turned out nearly perfect, however, you could see perspective.
Day 4: Vague shapes and shadows took place. Hatching is evil. Circles and curves still getting better with more frequency.
Day 5: Discovered 2 major reasons I'm struggling so much. 1, not used to looking at a screen while drawing (with a pen tablet). 2, my work station is VERY poorly set up. Including things moving around while I draw.. more than I realized... lol Otherwise, my lines and curves aren't too bad with cylinders.
Day 6: Better. Everything. Had the tablet at a different angle. Attaching even ends better.
Day 7: One week. Day 7's exercise was hard only because I find it hard to draw a straight line while looking at a screen. So.. more practice with the tablet. Which is making me think that I need to make a few improvements to my setup, practice the most basic fundamentals until I get used to the tablet in general, and then start over. We'll see. Otherwise, the exercise wasn't actually that hard. Except hatchlines, but I think that's directly related to the previous statements.
Day 8: Eyeballs weren't too hard overall. Hundreds of circles are helping. They aren't perfect but they're noticeably better. The curved hatches are tough.
Day 9: I ordered a stand for my pen tab. I discovered that slight angles let me draw more accurately and I'll probably spend a good deal of effort getting used to drawing while looking at the screen. Then I'm likely to start this over. I'll be practicing mostly circles, arcs and curves, lines and parallels for a bit. When I start again, I might delete this and start over. Not sure yet.

I had to go to other vids to learn how to draw a cube lol. I will need some time before I learn how to draw only half jjj. Thanks for the video.

I'm just starting digital art and using this oppertunity to brush up on the fundimentals that I skipped over or hardly got into when learning traditional for the first time.

few questions, how much time you need to do every exercise or how many repetitions, can you do multiple excercises a day?

is it normal that my hand feels somehow unsafe after to get into it again after a long timenot drawing or painting at all it feels like u are on the bike for the first time

Day 15 is wayy too hard

Reached day 29 and I'd never expected to draw such a hand on day 1, very very satisfied! (I'm a beginner, started drawing this summer and this routine is very useful, well done!)
