TLDR
There is no "beginners guide" Just a bunch of shit you have to deal with in extremely short days.
1/10 tries to have a learning curve like dwarf fortress but is actually just a fucking farm fest.

Want a full wurt food source one, also the ice and sun fish guides. I try to get stable before looking for lunar island. I haven't tried fishing yet, or ruins exploration yet.

You should be able to catch a shark or swordfish and have that single catch yield 15-30 fish cuts based on the size. you could keep a single item/structure and grab tons of food off of it.

If you said that farms are now overall better, fine i'm not going to agree but i won't argue, it's different. But to say that new farms are better in *every way* is wild. Before the farms were changed, crops didn't need tending, didn't need tilling, didn't need watering, crops could grow from any light source, and you could get back more seeds and basic seeds from feed the crops to birds, and you could easily take a trip to the muddy biome in the caves and came back with 100 light bulbs to feed to a werepig and use the poop to grow crops very quickly on old farms. There are *many* ways that old farms were better, new farms are only better at taking up less space, fewer resources to build, and growing in winter.

I noticed snapping tiles, action queue and geometric placement in your mod list, I also employ these three but I cannot get them to let me queue seed planting on tilled farm plots, is there any configuration required to be able to do so?

Can we have a list of the placement mods you are using?

Don't move the berries bushes the provide less and less over time and require fertilizer

quick tip with the kelps, you can push them all into 1 spot with your boat to make gathering extremely easy

I think mushrooms are definitely worth mentioning, they make for great vegetable/filler that's available nearly everywhere in the early game and knowing about the effects of blue and green mushrooms can be a lifesaver.

My personal source of food in this game are raccoons they drop one meat but they do respawn fast I think like evan less than a day but it's hard to find them.

If you kill the Barnacle Flowers during the night, they drop a item that can be used on the sea stacks for relocating the barnacle flower

As much as I like Don't Starve's hunger and food mechanics, I do agree they have gone overboard with food availability. As you mentioned at the end, dying of starvation is never a threat; not even once in my hundreds of hours playing DST and DS did I ever die of starvation. Plus it makes more food obsolete. There is almost zero reason beyond gaining sanity or Warly and his dishes to not spam meatballs and pierogis throughout most of the playthrough due to how common monster meat and mushroom biomes in caves are. I'm not quite sure what they can really do though to fix this problem without making the game unfair. The Uncompromising mod comes to the closest IMO in addressing this issue; nerfing crockpot recipes like meatballs, restricting monster meat, ice, and other filler usage, werepigs will attack the player instead of eating nearby food, cage birds have limits on making eggs etc. Beyond that, I would just make farming not work during the winter like it used to be. Would this be enough? Probably not. Would it address a lot of the issues? I think so.

ive given up! im a shameless ez mode player, i have turned off summer and winter and have made this a farming/ cooking game XD.

If bearger annoys me too much im turning him off too.

I’ve made a better pig farm to do it you can: put them by beefs befriend 1 and fake punch a beef

in spring I use a boat with 7 fleshy bulbs then go get honey and cook leafy jelly. Also some worlds have no saplings to combat this plant alot of twiggy trees or go to lunar island and get those saplings

Farms are not worth the hassle at all. Having bunch of berry bushes and 5 or more bee hives completely fulfills your food supply needs - and takes less time to set up and maintain. The only downside is a slight problem with HP restoration, but rushing lunar island for rock bushes allows you for basically infinite beefy greens/pierogies, especially when you set up a pig farm (Usually in the middle of first winter). It's a very good alternative if you dont like farming.

As someone playing a lot of Wurt recently. Take your extra meat and turn them into eggs. Then use one berry and 3 eggs for a fist full of jam.

wendy mains: go to froggy areas in hotter seasons and just let abigail slaughter them for 40 frog legs every day 😜

I just bought this game and this video had taught me so much. I wish you’d do a walkthrough with us. I would like to see how you collected so much stuff and made all the things you did in this game. I absolutely didn’t know you could farm the bees and butterflies and pigs. That’s crazy.

Farming logs with bearger isn't just if you want to keep her alive. Tree guards can kill her for you, and you'll get a lot of logs

what is that mod's name the show circles when holding seeds

I get a ton of meat from spider nests, just step on the web to lure out a few spiders, kill them away from the nest, repeat until they stop respawning. It can be a little tedious, but the spiders are piss easy to deal with as long as you only bring out a few at a time, and it's very reliable
