Open or closed back headphones wich one are the best

Now imagine if they made these headphones with interchangeable backs, so you could easily swap them out depending on your needs for a particular situation. This would be a game changer. Like a hybrid model. Best of both worlds.

100% i go with 900. Guitar sounds so much better. 700 sounded kinda boosted

Just to give it a little spice...
Considering both correct in terms of audio characteristics, the only content that open headphones can correctly reproduce is when there is a direct connection between the source and the recording device.
Otherwise, like a microphone recording or post production to recreate an environment, open headphones reproduce an environment within a second environment, a total abomination that our ear has most likely become accustomed to digesting.
Ironically, closed headphones, coupled with a subwoofer, are even more correct than a pair of speakers in a non-anechoic environment.

what would be a better option for competitive gaming then? ive been searching for one at the price range of the dt 900 x pro for primarily an fps edge

The closed ones have more precise and present bass and this is why i lke them more

I just bought the 770s yeasterday just because I don't have a treated room with a pair of presonus Eris 8..now every one on the internet are saying the 990s are better for production and mixing.. And the closed backed are better for recordings.. Lol. I typically try to make instrumental music in the box which have nothing to do with mic recordings.. What a bummer.

I have the 600 ohm version of the 880 & 990 edition headphone. As you can see I'm a Beyer fan would like to complete the set by purchasing 770 250ohm. However, i dont do studio work and your video is very enticing for me to get the 700 pro x more as the sound quality is much better than the older brother. What would you choose if you are in my position? Great video and subbed. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

I can honestly say, i absolutely hate the sound of open backed headphones, to me they sound very harsh in the midrange, to the point i cant use them without a 20 band EQ, its like listening to a speaker that has no cabinet, you need a headphone that translates well to ported speakers, and im afraid open backed types dont to my ears

question to anyone if you dont mind

Im struggling between which headphones to buy, the 700pro x or the 900 pro x or anything around the price range theyre in (aus$) .

I currently have a pair of m50x's that i have battered into submission. Theyre so chewed up they might as well be open back headphones at this point.

I produce music (genres like rap, house, grime and whatever else) and I also game and watch videos and movies ALOT. My headphones are on my head for most of the day.

I really dont know which ones to go with, honestly really torn, I just wanna make the decision and not have to worry about it for another few years.
Hope someone can help ! ! !

the quality of your production is astounding! It seems so cliché to say this but I can't believe you less than 1000 subscribers, you deserve many, MANY more.

I bought a pair of DT 770 pros about a month ago, and I have a love/hate relationship with them. I do like the sound but sometimes I think the treble can be a little grating on the ears. I had no idea that the 700 pro x even existed, so I just watched your video comparing the two headphones. Listening to the sound comparison (on my 770 pros) between the 700 pro x and the 770 pros was shocking.

The 770 pros sound so like compressed or low fidelity in the trebles compared to the 700 pro x (it almost sounds like you edited the audio to sound worse for the 770 pros lol I know you didn't but still the sound is very different). I don't know how to describe what I'm hearing but that's essentially how I feel while I wear them making music, somehow the hi hats and cymbals always seem too loud and piercing in my perception. I also hate the non detachable cable of the 770 pros, I think that's honestly ridiculous in the year 2023 (I know the headphones are from 30 years ago but still they should just make the cable removable).

Anyway, this video is great too, I closed my eyes during the comparison between the 700 pro x and the 900 pro x and honestly I couldn't tell the difference for the most part except with some of the guitar sounds and the vocal orchestral music. All this to say that you have made my choice clear, I'm definitely going to be returning the 770 pros and buying the 700 pro x, so I can use them outside and while singing on my music production!
