"People who look like you and me" says the guy who must have like 12% sub-saharan DNA to the guy who both parents are from Sierra Leone and is 100% Black. This obsession with blackness is a joke.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the first time that a clay court final was played between two black men?

I remember many guys saying Shelton would be a bad guy and a player without any potential... that has only been a few months ago. Ain't that crazy?
This guy is getting closer to the top ten and his game still has a few flaws that he can and will eliminate. If he does, he will be able to compete with everybody. I still expect him to become a top five player and stay there for many years. Sinner seems to be in his own sphere, but Alcaraz will strike back. Medwedew and Zverev will be there for many years and maybe Rune will improve and get there, too.
Probably these guys will dominate the next five years. At least, as soon as Djokovic's body doesn't allow him to win big tournaments (maybe in one or two years).

Francis's racquet looks like a baseball bat with strings.
What are the specs?

Not sure why Shelton needs to pull the people of color card "people who look like you and me", he only makes it more visible by statements like this, sets the "people of color" apart from the others.

I luv Ben Shelton! Think he is arguably a top 3 talent.
Which is why it pains me to say the following:

I don't think that Ben will ever reach #1 with his father as his coach. I mean, the father seems like a very nice and intelligent guy. Clearly knows tennis. However, I feel that Shelton needs a coach who has either reached the summit as a player and thus knows what it takes to get there......or has coached someone to be #1 in the world and thus again, knows what it takes to get there.

Mr. Shelton does not have that experience to give his son. And so I feel that Ben will never be #1 as long as his father is his sole coach.

Congrats to the bright, shining star, Mr. Ben Shelton, who's only getting better & better. Overall "game" throughout this match & classy trophy speech, on point. Perhaps Tiafoe's speech was edited & the part where he congratulated Shelton was omitted. "Screw you" certainly wasn't it, although the crowd laughed it up. Great job, Tiafoe, but humility is a beautiful thing. You're not going to win every match & you know that. Indeed, your "good friend" played lights out tennis & won. Again, well done & congrats, Ben Shelton!

My aggrevation is we keep getting these negros that turns out to be dud's in this sports instead of seeking out natural talented brothers who can dominate this sport. That because black men who could really be a force in this sport don't have the resources nor most times the accessability to become tennis players. If we had in the South when I was growing up I would had taking that challege. This negro here had a chance to possibly be an Olympian for 2024 and he coward out it. He should just go and rest someone or put resources behind some true talent.
