ive known luka since middle school, n we were friends once upon a time; we did a science project together in junior high. carpooled in high school. she even visited me at college where she gave me a squishmallow, and it lives on my bookcase. i remember her telling me about her top surgery date. this video is such a crazy way to find out she's detransitioned, clearly im not online enough seeing as her story's gone viral. im assuming she blocked me from her detrans account on instagram considering it wont load when i search it up lol. so weird how these things play out huh. luka if u see this i hope ur doing alright

No. A minor shouldn't be allowed to transition period. And people acting like they aren't, are just lying to themselves, that's why blockers and surgery are being targeted by conservatives.

If trans isn't about sexuality why are they labeled in with LGB community. It doesn't make sense.

Before I even watch the whole video I just want to say that I hope there was mental health intervention on site for this. I’ve heard Luka’s story and maybe her experience isn’t the norm and I’m not saying I agree with banning gender affirming care for minors but as valid as trans kids are, a story like Luka’s is also very valid and I hope every one of these people took time to validated and empathize with what she’s going through because it’s heartbreaking. Also heartbreaking though that many conservatives will take someone like Luka and exploit and use her for their own agenda which is also disgusting. I just hope she found understanding and empathy in this group of people❤️

These people are horrible. They always say "no, surgeries on minors dont happen". The detransitioner says "but it happened to me". They say "but nit without a long therapy before that". The detransitioner says "no, i just needed one appointement. Then they say "that was a mistake". They dont accept that the system is dead wrong. And without accepting 'they' wont be able to fix it. They are not interested in fixing it. They are only interested in denying the problems. They are the problem.

I personally think children shouldn't start doing medical treatments to transition for those 3 reasons the people had on the start and many more reasons too, but when they have grown and are around 15+ aka teenagers they start to know more about their sexuality and who they are, they are starting to find themselves at that age. So that's when some small medical treatments could be done in my opinion and then bigger ones after the age 18+.

it was so infuriating how they invalidated luka's feelings, luka was being vulnerable talking about the trauma she went through and they all found a way to pin the blame on her and call her parents abusive when they were literally told they'd lose their child.

I'm a MTF from the UK. I had to wait 18 months for my first appointment to a gender clinic. When I was there they just asked me a few questions and then gave an another appointment 6 months later. Then I think there might have been another appointment with another gap and then finally they told me I "was not ready". So it took 2 years only for me to be told no. I ended up going private and even that took time. It's nuts to me that people think you can get an appointment in a week and transition in two, it does not work like that at all.

The supporters of child surgeries, telling Luka that her parents were at fault for trusting "bad doctors" is literally the point of banning the surgeries for children. If the parents have to take responsibility for bad medical practices, then that is wild. If you don't want doctors to have responsibility, then it absolutely should be banned

I didn't even watched the whole video after I saw how they have treated Luka after her response. I realized that those are people not open to other opinions and experiences other then their own and it's sad because they fight against that same thing 😔 very sad video

This is worth seeing to the end. It really is a bridge between people that are played against eacother for some other groups gain. It’s so important to understand that some people transition and that helps them, and others transition and it only serves to harm them. We should not perpetuate soundbytes that bully parents and leads young people on a path with perils they won’t know about before it’s to late.

You can’t heal gender dysphoria. It is a medical disorder. But any underlying trauma needs to be addressed before any gender dysphoria.

We see you Luka and we love you! The way that you were treated was totally wrong. Middle ground you should have stepped in and told people they can’t be disrespectful as Samantha was to Luka.
