what pixel art program do you use to create these drawings?

Not going to lie, pixel isn't beautiful. It isn't meant to look good. It is just gameplay graphics, that's it. Using squares to make art isn't satisfying and doesn't give an impressive look. The art style is dog sh*t compared to hand drawn digital art. That's the reality.

Honestly, whenever I watch videos like this, no one ever mentions terraria using pixel art

Yes color theory is very important. I'm going to be making a game that has a darker more horror theme in the first half and I'm on purpose using a muted dull color palette to help emphasize the depressing and cold world the player is in for that time

Tip six: At least for me, I feel bothered to learn new aspects of pixelart through making actual projects. Like, why draw a rose to learn how to draw flowers, when you can design and print a personal journal with flowers in it!
