You need to look at the Mantel Mount next time. They’ve been around a long time…longer than when this video posted.
ОтветитьYeah, I have a power cord running behind a non insulated wall, and I'm about to redo it with that extender kit.
Ответить1st mistake watching this video because nothing is good enough now LOL 😫. I’ll leave it on a tv stand
ОтветитьThank you for this great information.
ОтветитьHIRE an Electrician ⚡🔌💡at least for the electrical hazard portion of the TV install. OR hire an Electrician for the entire install.
ОтветитьNEVER take handyman advice from a guy that could NOT wait to heal a wound, to make a video, without the HUGE BANDAGE on his hand. 😂
My advice to you from me the 35+year Industrial & Commercial Electrician, Professional Handyman, U.S. Navy Veteran, and common sense. 😂
Mistake 1 is hanging a TV above a fireplace or even without a fireplace. Biggest dumbass move everyone likes to make. Why people? Why do you hang these up so high? Middle of the TV should be at eye level or slightly above, especially for the shitty LCD TVs
ОтветитьYes, a tip for others, just to be of help also, is that it's not ideal to install over a fireplace, radiator, etc. I had a nice stereo (CD player, receiver, speakers) over a radiator for a long time. Like two years. I had put a thick, nice board over the radiator as a shelf for obvious reasons. “Forever” it worked beautifully with no problems. Eventually fit altogether stopped working. I found later that the ‘radiating’ heat upwards was (of course) passing by - and thru - my stereo and cooked it. I don’t hear a lot of stories about it, so I just know that I personally would never chance it and place my TV over a fireplace, regardless how attractive that may look, like a picture frame.
ОтветитьDude, you rock! This video was great and informed me about a couple of highly valuable tips; pass-thru plates, power bridge, etc. Thank you!
Ответить❤😊😊
ОтветитьOne mistake you forgot to mention; don't do whatever it was you did that has you wearing a bandage on your left pointing finger...
ОтветитьGreat video! Very useful info. thanks!
ОтветитьLmao dude did the number one worse mounting mistake: too high!!! Ain’t no sports bar bro
ОтветитьHave to run in in a conduit or against code
ОтветитьWe just mounted our tv and the tv is so close to the wall to the point where i cant connect my hdmi cable to the back
ОтветитьVery informative. Thank you some people don't like to have television showing in the room would be great to see some different ways of hiding televisions for example in customised or repurposed cupboards even seen them hidden behind painting before if they're not too deep
ОтветитьAre your sound bar magnets pulling the color out of the TV. Seriously. It happened to one of my tvs. Had to move the sound bar
Ответитьdang i didnt know it was possible to make a video talking about wall mounting a tv for 9 whole minutes, impressive.
ОтветитьPS DON'T INSTALL ABOVE A FIREPLACE! DUH
ОтветитьA fix for not being able to "Find a Stud" is to use a "Snap Toggle" these toggles will hold about 75lbs EACH, if you have 4 Snap Toggles holding your bracket/ TV, this will have about a 300+lbs limit (conservatively), and 85inch TV ranges around 100lbs (80-140lbs +/-). Also, in reference to measuring "top or bottom" it's more important to measure CENTER of TV/MOUNTING bracket, because THAT is where you eyes are going to be on the screen. Clearly make sure that you have enough clearance top or bottom, but sit down where you are going to watch the TV and think about "where" you WANT to be looking at. Mark this center area and center THAT (left and right) on the wall. Oh and ALWAYS USE A LEVEL!
ОтветитьLol your "first mistake" should be "mounting a TV above your head". That TV is way too high up.
ОтветитьJudging from the bandage on his finger, he made a mistake he didn't tell us about! 😁
ОтветитьThe biggest mistake you did is hanging the tv to high 😅
Ответитьmount me please
ОтветитьMount wanker
ОтветитьSure u could drill holes in the mount if the holes aren't exactly where u need them to be 😅
Ответитьnot sure if the taped up finger gives more authority on DIY stuff or less 😂
ОтветитьTv too hgh
ОтветитьSo DONT RUN THE POWER CORD THROUGH THE WALL
Buy two “special” recess outlets that are connected by a…. Power cable… and THEN it’s all safe 👍🏼 👍🏼 👍🏼
Yeah I’m running the power cable through the wall Buahahah. Ain’t no fire Marshal Inspector coming to the house
My problem is having 2×2 studs debated wether to get shorter bolts ( came with 3") or using 2×4's to mount to go through on studs
ОтветитьThat is mounted way way too high . Dont listen to this guy.tilting doesnt make any difference.
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьLove when I've already bought the stuff to mount my TV and then you display the mount that I purchased..
ОтветитьHow are those power cords allowed but not the actual power cables if the tv
ОтветитьMost tvs have nothing to access on back
Underneath
Best to mount a tv at 'seated' eye level (if your room design allows it) I have always done it also looks better when the tv is off and eliminates that 'black box void on the wall. But each to thier own.
ОтветитьIf you use a power bridge check if you have any studs that run horizontally inside the wall, definitely makes the install very difficult depending on the placement of your outlet box
ОтветитьCan I mount a tv without brackets?
ОтветитьNice setup
ОтветитьWhy Americans place the TV so high up?
ОтветитьI cut a 🕳️ electric tape my wires and put them in and it’s been years with no problems at all
Ответитьr/tvtoohigh
ОтветитьEwwww….Cats!
ОтветитьBiggest mistake ever is mounting the tv too high up, and you’re really guilty of that one 😂
ОтветитьGood video. Can the power bridge be installed on lath & plaster walls?
ОтветитьWhen picking my TV's height off the floor I realized that the recommended "eye level" suggestions from the internet made the view from the kitchen of the bottom of the screen blocked by the "eye level" heads of people sitting on the couch. I stuck an above average height person on the couch, went into the kitchen and sighted just above thier head to the wall where the TV was going to mount, and that's how I picked the bottom of my screen. Moral of the story is to consider all possible viewing locations before installing blocking and/or drilling holes.
