Something smaller in terms of Tyr's strength is that if you die earlier on in the journey and talk to Sigrun, she mentions how it's impressive how strong he is given his years in captivity. At least to me this implies that Tyr himself was getting stronger and back into his 'A-game' so to speak as he fought Kratos and he progressed through his Valhalla journey.

Thanks for the amazing analysis. However, you could not get a better player to play? the player absolutely sucks to the point of affecting the flow of narration.

It’s crazy how powerful you become in Valhalla 😂 you start off weaker than ever, by the time I 100%’d it I was basically running through the entire thing in a matter of minutes. Tbf I only play on medium difficulty but still, you get OP as hell

I am not much a soldier but i can say this for me. Tyr for this Tyr is more above Thor at least more strategic, mastering not just his body but mind and spirit is very hard to do as much shown in the DLC. Also don't forget magic which is extremely great fleets as well as shown as much understanding while having the core of his craft or magick. Tyr didn't seem to dissapoint because how to master one self is to master the battle field. How much Tyr had to keep going as much not just brute strength but also thinking as well to help Kratos. To me Thor is extremely strong don't get me wrong but seems more on just rely on brute or physical strength which is Achilles heel. Great skill yes but will be a down fall. Tyr seem to be more of a idea of Jack of all traits which does help and i can say for me in general, Tyr fits that well as much i can say second strongest Aesir god.

Late to the discussion but, I believe that Thor is stronger than Kratos by a margin, but Thor was more definitely a brawler, winning his fights by the way up of his strength. Tyr on the other hand is way more SKILLFULL, so although he may not win against Thor let's say in brute strength he can dance around Thor by skill alone and we can see that in Valhalla in the way that Tyr uses several techniques and powers

Thor killed kratos and revived him. It was nearly impossible for kratos to beat thor. Tyr is fighting kratos like its nothing. I think its safe to say if tyr wanted to he could obliterate kratos. Much as it pains me to admit kratos can actually lose to anyone. If its actually easy for tyr to beat him as it seems it would be, then it doesnt matter if kratos fights his way out of hel for a rematch. Hes screwed.

Perhaps kratos is holding back, but i have my doubts because valhalla would reject him for doing so.

I'm curious of Thor's performance in his prime years, because in the beginning of the game Thor did knock Krato unconscious and revived him, letting you know he did or had a upper hand.

It's just funny because we still dont know the peak of Kratos's power, he still becomes better and stronger even after fighting so many beings, Tyr would be an excellent teacher because he traveled all around the world so he can make Kratos even better in fighting.

Don't fear the man who knows 1,000 techniques. But fear the man that has practiced one technique 1,000 times.

Yes, he may have those weapons he may have the knowledge, but he practiced he trains until his body aches and break if things were in reverse, he would be the true God of war, but Kratos surpass my expectation he could be stronger than him. He is a great warrior, and he killed so many gods but still With with a sharp line in a calm body, he could be more than a god of war a weapon he could be something greater he could even revive his pantheon like that be something greater be something more, and better than he is, if only one thing.

The dwarf I hope he finds peace. I feel bad for him still what he went through how he lost his brother again no man no being from another world should feel like that to lose a brother like that.

Kratos was heavily suppressed against Thor. Also don’t forget that the last fight of Kratos vs Thor has much more context such as Thor being weakened and Thor is above Odin as well

Watching this I realized how incredibly similar Hermes and Heimdall are. Both cocky arrogant c*nts who thought they were unbeatable bc of their powers, Hermes bc of his speed and Heimdall bc of his foresight. Kratos took Hermes legs, And then took Heimdalls arm lmaooo. The correlation between the 2 is literally so funny to me

If Kratos, after fighting Odin, says Tyr is the strongest foe he's faced so far, then it stands to reason that Tyr could more than stand his ground against Odin and likely come out the victor. The only thing that would separate them is Tyr's skill and strategy vs Odin's deception and giant, unwavering ego.

I think the strongest gods are as follows: Tyr (skilled, without peer), Freya (she’s canonically stronger than Odin who actually isn’t all that powerful), Thor, Odin, and Heimdall. If you notice Odin must use EVERY SINGLE cheap trick he has picked up in battle because his powers alone are subpar.
Side note: Next game Tyr will visit Atreus and be killed igniting a war. I’m betting on it.

It might just be me but the fact Odin sent multiple other Aesir against Tyr kinda shows he probably couldn't have done it alone in a one on one.

Like Odin is strong but he's a magician and manipulator and by what we see almost none of his magic is offensive or that devastating. Unless I missed some big spells.

I would like to share something interesting that i noticed about Tyr. First of all I'm Brazilian, and honestly I'm writing this from Google translate, so I'm not sure of the quality of my writing.
It's about the meaning of Tyr's weapons, the first weapon he shows is a spear and a shield, this is Tyr conventional weapon's, due to the fact that it has his runic symbol. The tyr second weapon is a Macuahuitl,an Aztec weapon used mainly by the god of war and death Tezcatlipoca.
Tyr third weapon is a pair of Khopesh, a characteristic weapon of the god Anubis, god of death and the underworld.
And the tyr's last weapon is a katana,a weapon used mainly by Shinigami's in Japanese mythology.
All three of the tyr weapons have to do with a God of death, the only one that breaks the line is his own weapon. But in fact, when you analyze the symbol that tyr uses on his shield you notice that one of the symbols it carries is that of sacrifice...
I don't know what this could mean, but this is clearly no coincidence.

Now he learned from Tyr!

Tbf to Thor, he'd probably be much stronger with an unclouded mind. Basically, Kratos got a redemption arc and Thor didn't. The Norse games made it pretty clear that this more levelheaded Kratos is stronger than the younger one.

Where are you getting the information that Tyr is the son of Odin or the brother of Thor? I don’t believe that is mentioned anywhere in this game. Or are you making that assumption from norse mythology and not the game?

In mythology, the records are different when it comes to the origin of Tyr. The Prose Edda, Hymiskviða, and Skáldskaparmál depict Tyr as either descending from the jötunn Hymir or being the son of Odin, the father of Thor.

I would actually put Týr and Thor as being on par with one another. It's important to note that the entire time he's in Valhalla, Kratos is having a mental nerf, after not having Atreus around to rally him to be his best (he did say he will keep Atreus in his heart, but I don't think he's fully gotten used to his absence yet), and his struggles being confronted by his past. With Atreus around, Kratos was largely able to suppress his demons from his past, as we see in the base game, when Atreus is in Asgard, Kratos starts to fall apart and regress somewhat, reaching borderline Ghost of Sparta levels when fighting Heimdall. Due to this mental nerf, I think he isn't fighting on the same level he was during Ragnarök during his first few fights, and is slowly working up to being on his Ragnarok level after working through his trauma. Kratos may have gotten moderately stronger and more skilled, but it was more about his mental stability rather than any real combat training
