I think I figured out what it is that's bothering me. it's still the skin. It's still too gummy for some reason, like it's a thick rubber instead of a thin layer.

Thought the only thing off was the animated mouth showing too much teeth making it look fake but I see now, it's not a flaw, it's her in real life lmao. I don't believe realistic graphics would ever get much better than this.

I think it helps when the motion capture is of someone who looks quite similar to the character. Otherwise it has a creepy look.

She’s exaggerating her facial expressions way too much. I know she’s trying to show off the new technology on how it can track every inch of her face, but with a hyper realistic face, and uncanny mediocre facial animations it looks uncanny.

If I wanted to learn video game mechanics like make some great gameplay, where should I learn to do that?? I know softwares are good at specific stuff or vst or whatever it is idk, I’m coming from a music side, I’m tryna switch to game mechanics. But I don’t want no clonky bullshit learning I’m tryna make some astounding art:fluidity in the gameplay.

Not tryna hate but maybe it’ll be better if they used the animation for context while doing the real-time facial expression bc these were all kinda not what I expected to see, the facial expressions suck they are not artful to me.

It would be cooler if it could replicate emotions from someone who could actually act, I feel like the tech is great but it’s not good enough to get subtleties in facial expressions. That’s why all the actors we see doing mocap for facial expressions overexaggerate their acting
