Steer by wire is weird, but you get used to it.
I've come to appreciate the numbing of the wheel.

First of all is this V6 a VQ HR or from the VQ Rev up which they used in the 350z

Nice review! I also write auto reviews on occasion (not for work just for fun). I have driven the Q50 and found it to be a sweet ride! I think it's all a matter of opinion when it comes to the steer by wire system, I personally found it to be strange but enjoyable.
The Q50 does have an excellent Bose sound system, it will make ya want to turn that old Hank Williams track up a little louder!
The one problem I do have with Infiniti is they don't offer some of the options on the Q50 that even the tried and true slightly outdated Maxima offers. For example the Maxima has an OMG panoramic roof! Not available on the Q50!

I LOVE THIS CAR!! It does everything they say it will do and more, the steer by wires is like playig a video game. I use to worry about falling asleep behind the wheel during a long drive because I tire easily but this car makes me feel safe!

This car is amazing. I have one and I love it. Steer by wire is not a deal breaker for me at all, but a must have ;-)

New technology as Direct Adaptive Steering System needs more test drives to protect the driver and passengers. Look like it is a serious risk.

This is a horrible, knee-jerk review. I own a Q50s Hybrid and the steer-by-wire is not only responsive, but great on rough road and long trips due to much less vibration through the steering column.

As for all the safety features, they are very good when you have had a long day or doing a road trip and they essentially form a bubble around you and minimize the chances of driver error causing an accident.

Turn them off and this is an extremely sporty car for thousands less than inferior competitors.

The reviewer also fails to point out Infiniti's dual screen in touch system that allows you plenty of functionality, apps, and touch-screen real estate for navigation, audio, climate control, etc. It's gorgeous and functional.

I still don't like their new naming system. This car doesn't look like a Q50. The "50" part makes it seem cheap and low sounding. It will always be a G to me.

it's the first small step into cars driving themselves and we just sit back and watch..

I'm a purist but rather that be aloof, I know that autonomous is coming in the not too far future. Look at how everyone especially "disparaging auto journalists" are now realizing that steer-by-wire is an ingenious introduction into the automotive industry. PS: All these electronic gizmo's are becoming the norm.
