I watched this video half a year ago and ordered mine from pyrodrone just 1 hour ago. RDQ and Makerfire are out of stock. The reason it took me so long was because I wanted every purchase for this hobby to be less than 100 USD. I always fly with a ground station. And today I finally figured out that this Cobra S is actually a combo of 2 purchases of the receiver and the goggles. So, each purchase is actually less than 100 USD even though the combo is 170USD. This is about the same expense of buying a Fatshark Recon V3 plus buying a receiver for the ground station.

is this usable with other straps? i dont like the over the head strap thing 🤣

Does it connect to any vtx?

Hello! Great review! I’m looking into getting the Skyzone Cobra X goggles and wear rather wide glasses. Do you know what maximum width glasses frame that’s compatible with the goggle?

Can we add external modules like fusion/raoidfire on this goggle instead of stock receiver module?

I hope they make a blanking plate for the battery bay if you don’t need to use it instead of having the bulge. That looks like it could also touch your nose if it was on the larger side.

The x has terrible latency. I wonder if this one is similar.

I got the x version of these as I need glasses and can't use most goggles. These are hands down the best goggles ever for people with glasses.

Man I just started and got the Eachine Ev800d for my first pair the other day and I wish i would've seen this first.

I have a question, this googles Will support HD FPV transmisión System?

one problem/question....as i'm short sighted, with previous box goggles i had the issue that the screen was too close to my eyes leading to eye strains and not able to focus on the image. FXT Vyper were able to put a series of mirrors inside so that the distance from your eyes and the screen was increased. Anything similar in this skyzone Cobra? is the lens doing something and avoid this issue?

Was thinking of the x for my gf, she wears some special glasses, so my goggles don't work for her. Have an old set of box goggles I retrofitted for her. As it is, i have a decent level of astigmatism, so I have diopters on my old HD2 or maybe its HD3, I forget. Seems goggle manufacturers are giving up diopters which may push me to box goggles too

Could you use it with FatShark Shark Byte?

What on earth took goggle manufacturers so long to provide a receiver module slot for box goggles?

Can they sell the RapidMix with an OLED display to change settings on the module itself? Then I can use them with that external module bay for the SkyZones 03O.

Yeah I was surprised when I first saw this. Very great price for what you get. I guess the only thing is you look like an insect or alien because of the antenna placement but really who cares what you look like it's about comfort and performance. Thanks Mesh

Module bay! Dannng, nice. Pretty cool googles, box goggles have been my favorite so far. Once ORQA upgrades their optics I'll be happier with them I'm sure, and they're definitely 'better' but there are still things I like about the scouts picture. I'm about to mod my Fatshark scouts to take a Rapidfire. This is a neat option and it's about time someone stepped up the box goggle game.

Also, just a note for everyone about those 'cheap' antennas. Don't toss them if you're a micro lover! They are perfect for micros that transmit using a dipole, such as the Tinyhawk line. In my experience you'll get a lot better reception if receiving from a dipole when that's what your quad is transmitting with. I use one of those dipoles along with the AOMWAY ANT009 patch and I generally get better reception with the dipole than my AXII when I fly out of my patch with my Tinyhawk. Also to note, the biggest difference I've seen on improving my Tinyhawk's reception was to get the antenna standing straight up and down, believe it or not. They always come smashed in their case, and when I cut and redid the ziptie after a crash, I got it standing straight up and it works great. Along with using that dipole/patch combo, I've taken it about 3/4 mile out on my ghost and reception was impressive (to me) at 200mW.

Obviously on my 3" with an AXII on the VTX works better with it's matching antenna. I guess the point I'm trying to make it match your antenna types and test; sometimes that 'cheap' antenna can work better for your application depending on what it is.

For me box goggles are about large FOV, 50deg is no where near large enough. So for me definitely not the best.
