TCL C835 Review - Cheaper Mini LED TV That Beats Samsung & Sony in This Important Area!

I have the TCL 6 55R635, was the first year they put out a miniled panel (2020), and I LOVE it, refresh could be higher, but that is about it. One thing though, is that the minileds make the tv HEAVY. It takes at least 2 people to pick this think up to move it.

This TV TCL 55C835 is with NETFLIX CERTIFICATED?

If this tcl and samsung q80b was same price which is better to get?

Does it completely fail to do 4:4:4 chroma? US models apparently need to be set to a Game mode to enable it.

i had this tv for about a month, very good panel and job by TCL in regards to blooming/clouting but with one major flaw. PWM flicker was atrocious, at any brightness value. It was somehow wavy, unsettling, couldn't watch more than a few minutes without needing a break, headaches and what not. Dolby Vision brightness was also a pain in the eye. Ended up returning it, bought a qn90b (noticeably bit more blooming) but a better TV in every other aspect.

Hi Vincent, sorry to ressurect an older video, but I have noticed when using VRR from PS5 to this TV, I get colour temperature fluctuations in game. I noticed it first with Hogwarts Legacy and since the recent Gran Turismo 7 update, the same when in that game. Any insight as to what might cause an effect such as this?

Hi there, great video, subscribed. I recently purchased this tv and I’m having a certain issue that I can’t figure out, can I ask for your advice please? I can’t get my tv to run in 24hz for movies on Netflix and Blu-ray. I use it with the Xbox series X and have “allow 24hz” checked in the Xbox settings, but it will only play movies at 60hz on Netflix or on disc which causes judder. I see in your video that there’s a section that shows your unit running in 24hz bit I can’t get it to run 24hz on mine. Any advice will be much appreciated. Cheers.

Torn between this tv and N95B. Which one would be the better choice?

I have 845 and backlight with local dimming off is horribel. With Local dimming ON all small brighter/white moving object etc are strongly dimmed. + There is no possibility to turn of blooming etc in DV IQ mode.

so is this the UK model? TCLs policy of different spec for the same model depending on region is very confusing.

I've had this tv for a year now, damn it goes alright for a mini led TV. I bought the 75 inch in aus for 2.5kaud. A bit steep but it's a solid tv.
I still have my samsung ru8000 82 inch, the parents have that now... will get an oled 75 inch next time round just waiting for tech to develop so TV's like the s95 become affordable.
If your looking for a decent mid range reliable tv then tcl has you covered with the c835..

I just ordered the 65 inch miniled from TCL. Because of the huge screen im worried 1080p content will look pixelated? My last tv was a Samsung plasma 59inch (2012/1080p tv) and looked decent image, but this is a step bigger...so not sure TCL uses upscaling for 1080p content?

Please help me, i bought the TCL 55" C835 to play Callofduty mw3 on my Ps5 console, cant get anything right, i get a washed picture, input lag and overall a headache and cant find any settings to try out. Please please help me. As of now i have everything hooked up following: 2.1 120hz hdmi, vrr ON, ALLM on, Game master mode ON, HGIG ON, and on my ps5 i have it all set to automatic, and performance mode, still the picture is lagging, its washed white:ish, bright and movement wich makes me almost sick.

Anything or any tips would be so appriciated, love

Hey just wanted to say that as of June 2024 I believe that TCL have still not fixed the PC connection issue (NVIDIA gpu) that is discussed in the review.
