I also found that the foot pegs are a little too far forward. I got the foot pegs changed for wider pegs and it helped a little. But I wish the pegs were farther back so I could use my legs for shock absorbers

Tried one out the other day.....like a good 125!! Old design or not, the bike DOES have an OHC engine, and I would expect a LOT more from a 350 in 2024. Only out on the bike for 5 minutes, and that was all it took for me to say "nooo, thank you!" As you say, around town....great, but once on anything like a faster A road....put it this way, I KNEW that if I bought one of these, I would definitely regret it and it would bring no end of frustration to me. Don't get me wrong, it actually is a cracking little bike for the money, and looks like a million dollars. But as I said, 5 minutes on it and it was a big no. I'm only 11 1/2 stone, too, so it's not like I'm a six foot two 17 stoner! Come to a hill, or (I'm guessing) into a strong headwind.....and you'll be gritting your teeth! Well finished bike, though....and the engine starts and runs lovely. If I was needing a bike to run around town, or to commute 5 miles a day, a big yes. Anything outside of that, including touring, a big no. Being a shorty, I did try the Triumph Speed 400 .....even with proper bike boots, I could only get the tips of my toes down (I'm 5' 4") So that was THAT out, too! Shame, as that bike has twice the power of the Meteor. Just to underline, I am NOT having a go at this bike, it is a real beauty, the value for money is insane, but it's just.....'flat' I definitely would recommend a test ride on one of these, though....but don't be tempted to just buy one without trying it first. SO many glowing reports on YT of how great it is. I nearly bought one on the reviews alone, without testing.....but I am SO glad I did! Happy Biking!

Re watch the video on the Meteor. Screens and bars were mentioned as coming, mid 23 now, nothing on web. Also the silencer fitted to your own model. But not offered for general sale.
DNA filter and plate certainty adds more pep through the gears.

The foot pegs look good but its a nightmare tightening the bolt on the exhaust side as there is no room to attach the nut I lost two that are now somewhere in the area underneath - impossible to get out - and there is no room for purchase to tighten it up.I gave up.

Today fitted your Gear linkage as because the larger foot pegs had been fitted the gear change was a nightmare also quality of linkage very poor.
I used my boot as a Templet to work out distance and angle as I need the extension you provided.
Following your guidelines and using grease and lock tight as required, also added spring washers.
Road tested and the difference is astounding well designed and high quality components
Extremely happy with the modification.
Also fitted the clutch cable cover 15 min job and cleans the area up
Thank you.

I just got the Hunter here in sunny Indonesia. Number one issue are the rear shocks, the bike has almost no static sag and with my 78 kgs very little rider sag. I understand simple, inexpensive suspension, but this is rear end is way too stiff.

I have big hands, but the levers are at the very "far" limit. The last thing that no one mentions (so maybe it's me) is the clutch engagement width, it is very narrow. The clutch is smooth and all that, but the entire engagement happens in 10% of the lever travel. I ride 150cc local Hondas and Yamahas where the engagement is 40% or more. Two ideas, a less aggressive cam on the clutch shaft or a longer clutch cable lever on the clutch shaft. Watched your Fuel X, need that as the poor bike runs hot and looking at the white, hot spark plug makes me cringe. Thx for great channel and nice parts.

What are your thoughts about putting a 16 tooth front sprocket on? The first gear is so low it shouldn’t affect that but it should help with top speed motorway riding.

The fact that the vmax is in fourth gear is because fifth gear is an overdrive. And that's a good thing for saving fuel.
This is not a sign of lacking power.

interested to hear the development of performance parts on the classic 350 and the meteor and the new hunter 350 coming to the UK in november.. Three bikes with the same engine.. I have seen pictures of the hunter 350 and can't see where the catalytic converter is.. On the meteor it is placed underneath the engine... The hunter 350 is more sporty (but still heavy at 181kg kerb weight).. Royal enfield say they have reworked the fueling on the hunter vs the other 350cc bikes,, but only 0-60 kph times are slightly faster,, the meteor actually is faster from 0 to 100 kph. The more "sporty" hunter 350 really needs a boost in horsepower and I think it could benefit from a new camshaft, DNA airfilter, an ECU remap and free flowing exhaust... The Hunter is at least 20% cheaper than the scram 411 so expect a price around 3600 pounds for the Hunter 350.. A 20% boost in power would be great from the stock 20.2 bhp to around 24 bhp

I like the heel/toe shifter but removing the sloppiness in the mechanism would be great. With speed limits here in Ireland at 120kph (75mph) I think this bike just isn't for those motorway roads. Here I think you'd need a solid 80mph. No harm though as it's not what I got it for.

You guys need to watch out about all this type of stuff that you do because in Europe and in the UK you're on the verge of having pollution sniff test and if it doesn't pass you will have to put it all back stock another point in favor for a vintage bike. Harley-Davidson got fined millions of dollars by the EPA because their ignition module on Screamin Eagle violated pollution controls. Better watch out big brother is watching you.

The new BS a gold-star doesn't exist. Oh you can make a one-off 4 show. But no dealers no motorcycles no road test no test drives no nothing. No new information on the site or the videos just repetitions of the same things they had from almost a year ago. Just like Triumph a made in Thailand at a built-in England price doesn't go over with the customers who expect to buy a British motorcycle because it has Triumph and Union Jack all over it except it is completely made in Thailand from Taiwanese parts. Their sales are in the toilet. Show many people have cancelled their orders that they have run out of room to keep all of the motorcycles in. Aiphone ebsa Goldstar made-in-india@a made in England price is not going to be any better. I always tell people if it had Jawa on the tank instead of BSA would you be foaming at the mouth to buy one? From the evidence I think they might have changed their minds about the whole Endeavor completely that's why they're so quiet on the whole matter.

@frankmarkovcijr5459 - 06.04.2022 05:03

I have a Jawa 250 perak. The Jawa they produced in India nothing like the real bike as big a phony as the new so-called BSA. If you want to buy a gold star you can buy a brand new motor from the Dutch people that's much better than the original. You can get a belt drive with an electric starter for $2,500. You can get a Norton featherbed frame to put the motor in. From the same company you can buy beautiful alloy fenders, alloy gasoline tanks, and alloy seat assemblies. Whatever price the phony bsaa comes in at it will be built down to a price and just like with the meteor it will cost you an arm and a leg to upgrade it to make it decent. For that kind of investment you can make a real classic that will be worth as much or more in the future where any of these Bikes their retail value sinks like a concrete submarine. You can do whatever you want to the meteor 350 but my 441 shooting star will eat it for lunch.

I have real bsa's I don't need a phony. Prior to the 71/72 debacle all of the bsa's and Triumph along with most of the other British motorcycles with just a few exceptions we're beautiful. And with proper maintenance are perfectly reliable for day-to-day transportation. Everybody talks about how heavy the today's murder Cycles are and that's because of all the crap that gets loaded on them. In the old days the British companies could sell every motorcycle that they could produce. Example the BSA Victor 441 sold out every production run. Triumph was building around 700 to 800 bikes a week. And these were good quality motorcycles built with good quality Parts shocks tires Etc. When you bought a Honda you got shocks capable of keeping the seat off the back tire and nothing else. And the Japanese tires were worthless in the rain and people joked about them being made of recycled rubber bands. Which British bikes you got Girling shocks and Dunlop tires. Even the BSA 250 singles got good shocks and good tires. They were real transportation and not a weekend toy. I find it so amusing that so many manufacturers are producing low horsepower motorcycles.

Let's not forget that is supposed to be an economical bike for someone to learn how to ride a motorcycle on. Learner bike are not the bike you keep forever. Used Japanese motorcycles are cheap and plentiful and let's not forget people who learn how to ride will drop their bike learning. A cheap bike with more power and better suspension and more room and storage space and everything for half the price of the basic meteor is a much better way for someone to learn how to ride a motorcycle after they go to a safety course to get their license and learn how to do things properly. Today's motorcycles are not motorcycles, they are a collection of government regulations on two wheels. So sad.

Ответить
@frankmarkovcijr5459
@frankmarkovcijr5459 - 06.04.2022 04:37

I would think all of these upgrades that you speak of for the bike will probably cost as much as the bike and if that is the case the buyer will be better off just buying an interceptor. I have caught a dozen women how to ride on my 1965 TR6 with a hardtail. They like the fact that the sheet height is low where they can flatfoot themselves. And the Motorcycle weigh about 350 lb soaking wet. They all became excellent Riders. 1 rides a Suzuki Hayabusa that bike scares the hell out of me.

Ответить
@frankmarkovcijr5459
@frankmarkovcijr5459 - 06.04.2022 04:26

I understand that on these bikes there is a EU mandated ignition set at a low RPM oh, I understand if you cut two wires it will let it rev higher so you can get more horsepower. Just think how much cheaper that bike could be if it did not have to have an expensive catalytic converter and fuel injection and oxygen sensors and ecu's and all that other electronic crapola. Of course none of my British motorcycles have anything electronic hell they don't even have an electric starter. It is a shame this bike does not have a Kickstarter like the old 500 did. You used to have to learn how to properly kick start your motorcycle and now all you do is hit a pussy button. When I go to the Harley shop I always make a point to use the kickstarter on my Ural sidecar outfits to show them how to properly start a motorcycle. And I am usually filmed when I'm doing this. Kick-starting is an art form. And I love watching the videos of a skinny Japanese girl who weighs like 80 lb kick-starting a kick-start only vintage Harley. And they get it done.

Here we go we have this inexpensive starter bike and now we're going to redo the whole suspension system. I have seen new shocks for these motorcycles for $800 a pair. A bike ride ish if this is your first bike your learner bike your issues not a bike you're going to keep forever so you really shouldn't spend a whole lot of money upgrading it for the next owner. I'm going to go back to listen to the rest of the video.
