How to RE-RELEASE a song with DistroKid (after removing)

Hey, thanks for the video! My band released a two track single today but one of the tracks happens to have a click at the beginning we want to remove. If we delete only this one track and re-release it, will it appear on the same single or will there be two singles with the same release date afterwards? Would be very helpful if you know that:)

Hey I uploaded a song with distrokid with my old distrokid account. After seeing this video I deleted the track and noted the isrc code. After I bought my new distrokid account (as I did not want to continue the previous one account on that email) I tried to re-release the song but when I’m putting the isrc code it shows “It seems the ISRC for track 1 is already in use by a different DistroKid account.” Please tell me what to do Pete

Then I released my song was up and it’s November

I checked and I accidentally put it for 2023 forgot to change year.
I have now taken the song down but im this song has been getting the most streams I’ve had and I now want to keep them.

So when I re upload I put the IRC code in but if I put that the song has been previously released (accidentally) it no longer gives me the option to make a release date and it’s important that it releases on Valentine’s Day.

So I decided to click that it hasn’t been previously released and still put the irc code. As it gave me the option still. Planned my original thought out release date feb 10 2024 ect. Will it still count my streams that I have already gotten ? As long as the irc is there and everything is the same it should no?

If I remove from all stores and re-upload with same UPC & ISRC, will my streaming numbers & money income be gone or no

If distro kid takes your music off because you haven’t paid your prescription plan and then you repay it do you lose your streams or do you get all your streams back?

I aborted an album release because of one song that would not publish due to it being previously released. I changed the featured artist on the previous released song and hope to try to put it on the album once more. I submitted the change but did get a formal e-mail of approval. Do I need to wait until I see changes on streaming services regarding the featured artist to try to publish again?

I have a song which is yet to be released, just 3 days to go. I have uplaoded the song about two weeks ago. I only found out now that I uploaded the wrong file, do i still have any chances to correct that and have it relased on the same date I choosed before, this coming Friday.

Hey Pete I have a question. So we deleted and re-uploaded our ep and it got deleted within a day and still hasn’t gotten re-uploaded. Yes we made sure all of the meta data and the codes were the same. Just wondering what the time frame is and how long it’s gonna be out of stores. Please get back to me thanks!!!

Ok sir, Nice to meet you. I registered on Distrokid but i just chose all features even distrovid... So all that together is draining my bank account balance and i cant even re-upload my first previous release as it failed due to bad network and now it says what must i do help please

Distrokid might just be the worst distributor to use.

hi Pete, thanks for the great vid as always :) do you have any advice for how to delete and re release the same song altogether with a new release date and all? due to a desire to wipe everything, re brand and start fresh (but keeping the same artist name). I did some reading on distrokid’s website and realize this can get complicated, but curious if you have any thoughts :) thx so much!

how long should i wait with the reupload after deleting the song? i deleted it today and it is not removed from the stores right now. can i still reupload the new version if i let it drop next week?

man I can't even thank you enough right now lol, I had released something on my birthday, today the 17th of August, and like an hour before it hit 12am I was listening to my release and realized something I didn't like was in the track and needed to change it, still wanted the release date as my birth date I made the change quickly and re uploaded it, but I guess distrokids time zone is different so it showed as uploaded August 18, I'm gonna try what you explained in this video and see if it works, I hope it does! 🙏🙏

What is I want to erase and re-release only one song on a 4-song album? Do I have to erase the whole album before uploading everything again? I guess so.....

Do I need go upgrade to use my old ISRC? I'm not seeing any option to click "already got isrc" like you said.

Hey! Thanks Pete - I just uploaded a song for release yesterday which is set to come out in three weeks. I want to change the master on what I've uploaded and know I can abort the single and start over since it's not out yet and don't need to save the ISRC. It's already shown up in my Spotify for artists though this morning. If I abort / delete it from distrokid how long do I wait again to upload? Can I do it right away? Let me know! x Jas
