I guess Sephiroth got tired of waiting for the astroid to come and destroy several planets and the sun so he just chucks the same damn astroid at them with no hesitation.

For all the people arguing what this attack is, it is neither Meteor nor Supernova. The attack is called Divine Proclamation

Fucking noob. This isn’t Supernova or a secret. This is simply a move that resembles Meteor simply to show off Sephiroth’s strength.

So I have a theory. Sephiroth is absolutely a master of illusions, we’ve seen manipulation in the original and some illusions (it was a lot by 97 standards) but now we see the full extent, even the party can see his manifestations such as meteor(here, he actually summons meteor in the og timeline but here it’s a mass demoralization agent.) Super Nova isn’t an actual attack it’s an illusion spell. The damage is psychosomatic and done to their organs and endocrine systems by putting them into a crazed flight or fight imminent death state. Thus why it does damage based on percentages vs straight damage.
