How to set up your new Panasonic GH5 for Filmmaking

Used your GH4 video as reference many times over the years just upgraded to the gh5 as they are on clearance open box at best buy. So glad to see your face pop up when searching for a gh5 setup video. If you have a GH6 video i look forward to using it in 6 years.

August 5, 2023, I bought a GH5 yesterday, and now I'm watching your video to set it up. For some reason, I'm not seeing he AD_LUMIX file on either of the cards?

Cool enough, but how can I get away from these 23,97 and 29,97 FPS formats? I want to shoot 24p or 25p .....

You prefer to leave AF off or is it terrible to use?

Hi Griffin - I am a bit late :-) Do these settings works also with the GH5M2? I tried to load them but I got "cannot load this settings" Any idea?

Some how I have set slow motion priorities in C1 of my GH5.
The screen shows MFL
( Manual Focus Lock)
How do I remove the Lock and bring to Manual Focus.
As Manual Focus ring works fine in all other modes.

Really helpful video! I finally found out how to stop the FHD mode punching in. That was driving me insane

I was recording with my gh5 not to long ago and when I went to take the footage off I was only able to take off some of my footage but what I want is still on the camera. Is it way to get that off?

I need help with lummox GH4, I manot able to play my video clips on my camera what feeture need to be turn on.

Are you sure the luminance setting should be at 16-235 (limited range) instead of 0-255? A lot of different views on this, but I see several people using 0-255.

Do you recommend turning the IBIS off completely when shooting on a tripod? I know that for some cameras it is adviced to turn off IBIS especially when panning and tilting, and when using wide lenses (how wide, I'm not sure though). So how about the GH5? Always off when using tripod, only when panning/tilting on a tripod, or keep it on always?

I have 2 lens with the GH5 MKII.
Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm f/2.8 II ASPH (stabilisation)
Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO (no stabilisation).
I have tested both at 12mm and there is practically no difference in video stablisation. Am I doing something wrong?

Hello is it actually worth going with a flat profile? Can you compare the different log profiles and when you would choose to use which? I'm seeing very different discussions online.
