This is way more info then i needed to get going, but its good safety tips! One time the boom of a junk tried to kill me.
ОтветитьYou mention a glossary of terms, but I do not find it? Where is it? or how do I get it? Thanks, great and helpful video!
ОтветитьGreat instructional video - thank you for helping me visualize the sequence! Do you have another one that is more detailed on the jib movement and timing? If not, at what point does the “old” line get thrown off? Before or after the main crosses? Thanks again!
ОтветитьMan you guys are awesome! This is the best explanation I found out of maybe 10 videos! Thanks a lot ♡
ОтветитьGreat - thanks. Is Bearing Away similar? Both seem to involve the boom changing sides. Thanks in anticipation of clearing iup my confusion! Subscribed and liked.
ОтветитьWould you normally teach tacking first ? Gybing is more complicated and more to go wrong.....
Ответитьexcellent.
Ответитьджайб == поворот фордевинд? пока слабо знаком с английской терминологией
ОтветитьExcelent !
ОтветитьFantastic. So well done. Thank you.
ОтветитьThat's why it's called a "BOOM", right? Lol.
ОтветитьIs that Greta on the boat?
Ответить"Why isnt failing to duck demonstrated??"
ОтветитьBe careful not to get the tiller extension up your bum, it might hurt your haemorrhoids...
ОтветитьStraighten the tiller immediately after the boom moves. Great advice!
ОтветитьThought I wanted to sail. Not going to happen.
Ответитьthis is NOT the safest way, to do it safer, pull the main ALL the way in with the sheet, then gybe the headsail, get on coarse, then release the mainsheet ( saves you bumping your head, and all the shock loading the process puts into the rigging and the hardware). This is how it's done in bigger boats (yachts) because the forces are so big, they will knock you over the side. just remember you are doing it for fun, always enough time to do the job safely!
ОтветитьThank you. The videos have stopped ?
ОтветитьWas that Greta learning to sail before she crossed the Atlantic?
ОтветитьGreat sailing video!
ОтветитьThis is without a doubt the best beginning sailing video I have found anywhere. It is clear and concise. Thanks for taking the time post it.
ОтветитьI know someone who is terrified of jibing his boat. He always wears `round. As for me, I've been kissed by the spinnaker pole during a race, and finished without going overboard. Bloodied, but we won the race! You have to respect the air and the water. Always!
ОтветитьI always let the boom swing as far as it can in strong winds as sheeting it in before you gybe can lead to a capsize once the wind hits the sail on the new tack.
Ответитьawful boat and poor technique, in breeze pulling the main in for a gybe will at best stop you from turning and at worse create uncontrollable heel to leeward, also no mention of rolling the boat or body movements to help ease the boat round the gybe
ОтветитьThink the boat is a Laser Bahia. Can take 2 sailors but also good with 3.
ОтветитьHi. The main boat we used in this video is a Laser Bahia. Very spacious to learn in. The boat used was at a training school in the UK. Laser is an international brand so might be available where you are. Perhaps look for a sailing school near you? This is the best way to learn. The videos are a guide to assist the learning path.
Happy sailing and welcome to the wonderful sport
That's a SWEET boat! Can anyone tell me the make/model? I've NEVER sailed but want to start. I'm 55 and in decent shape. I'm quite familiar and comfortable with boats up to 18'. I spend time in Maine on lakes of various sizes. I want to sail 50/50 alone/with a partner. The water is COLD in Maine. I don't mind getting wet, but I don't want to sit in the water 100% of the time. This unit looks perfect. TIA.
Ответитьexcellent.
