I dont trust this guy. He speaks too positively about the Studio MAX.... His name is MAXtech. You know what I am saying? Just kidding. Thanks for the video sir. I do want to point out one thing. About the first and second graph you said "....smashes the Ultra.." and "...barely any difference. In both cases the difference is 14% unless my math is wrong. Or maybe its something else I dont understand. Thanks again.

What would be the difference of the same spec (M2 Max) on a Macbook 14 or 16"VS Studio version?

in photography tests in M2 max vs M1 max video has been said twice that the difference in results is "not huge" and "it is not really worth spending a ton of extra into the m2 max"...and now you say that the very machine, that has not been so much further than m1 max is killing M1 Ultra? :-) could you please provide us some sort of explanations or interpretation? :)

Putting iMac Pro 18 core Vega64 4TB 64GB for sale momentarily, just received my M2 Max 14" MBP 4TB 64GB minutes ago. Very impressed, obviously the M2 spanks the iMac Pro in most areas, so consolidation is now quite viable. Currently researching how to migrate Parallels from Intel to Apple Silicon, this being my first Apple Silicon purchase and there are a couple caveats.

Would the M2 Max Studio have similar performance to this laptop? I'm debating between the M2 Ultra or the M2 Max studio, which I suspect is more than I need.

Seems like the MacBook Pro with M2 max is the better value. I just sold my iMac Pro and currently using. I already miss MacOS and now I'm debating what I should buy. Mac Mini M2 Pro, Mac Studio or MacBook Pro 16 with M2 Pro? or Max?

Wish you would have heat soaked them prior to some testing. I suspect if you ran some of these on the MacBook multiple times in a row same as the studio it would have throttled.

My main hesitation about going laptop, depending on the work, is the dongle-based Ethernet if it is needed. Those things work, but aren't as solid (in my experience) as having it built in. Otherwise, this is pretty impressive. I really hope we see some Max/Ultra M2 desktops soon. That said, I think I'm going to be waiting until the M3-series.

The M1 Mac Studio is a desktop with way more Thunderbolt ports.
🎉I would still be able to download porn & edit all the pornography I want with no problems with either one🎉.
Eventually Apple will make an updated Studio version that’ll blow away the M2Max.
Your gay!
These videos here have now become way to repetitive over computer benchmarks instead of real world use.
I still have a 21” iMac from 2013 that I use for all my small junk, a 27” iMac from late 2020 that I use for music & video production & a 16” M1 Max MacBook Pro that I use for everything. Portability is the +.
I just pee'd on myself.😢
They all work great, they have their differences with features/performance & pretty much all do the same thing.
The M2 Max & the M1 Ultra are for the rich, professionals, the graphic designers, video & music production professionals, computer/tech junkies & are complete over kill for a normal user.
I would get a Mac Studio when my desktops die.
I won’t need a new MacBook anytime soon.

M3 will be better than M1 & M2.
M4 will be better than the years before.
M5 the same.
And so forth.

🎉I would still be able to download porn & edit all the pornography I want with either one of these with no problems🎉
I anal penatrated my usb port.

🎉I just saved 15% by switching to Geico.🎉

❤Unsubscribed❤

I use a MacBook Air for my work as a teacher and love the mobility of it. At home I really have no use for it being mobile and prefer a desk top. I had a 2008 Mac Pro for years and just upgraded to a Mac Mini Pro. I hate laptop trackpads and just don’t like using a laptop on a table or desk. I also prefer to have a 24” monitor over a small screen. Love the idea of a MacBook but just don’t like laptops.

I know lots and lots of people tout using a MacBook Pro as their sole machine talking about portability, but I prefer to have a desktop and a laptop along with an iPad. To me, each serves a specific function and I prefer to not put all my eggs in one basket when it comes to my main computer. I frequently will have my desktop set up for specific projects and then use my laptop on the couch or for travel and like the convenience of not closing or minimizing whatever project I'm working on to then use the laptop for more general stuff or different projects.

I don't use an iPad specifically as a laptop replacement but it can serve that function for me. It's really just a large screen iPhone when I travel and don't feel like taking the laptop on short trips. For longer trips I'm probably doing video, so the laptop really functions as a way to offload videos from my iPhones each day. Plus I'm using the iPad to control my cameras so I end up bringing both.

Eventually I'll have an Apple Silicon laptop and could do real video editing on the laptop, but right now my laptop really struggles (it's a 2017 base 13" MBP). There are other factors that make it difficult to do real editing when I'm in the field, but once the iPhone Pro gets at least USB 3.1/2 data speeds, then a laptop might aid in my workflow when I travel. Otherwise I can do everything when I get home.

I think it’s about your setup. Right now I’m looking for portability so I am looking at upgrading my MacBook Pro. If I was to set up a home server, I would definitely use the Mac mini. I would use the MacStudio as a dedicated tower over the MacPro. I’d use the iMac as room computers for kids or something.

Apple is definitely canceling the mac studio and just leaving the mac mini, and the new, you could say mac studio, with the m2 ultra (or extreme) will be Mac Pro.

The stop gap chip did not do too bad. Not surprising since newer gen i5 are supposed to close in on older i7, but even as a stop gap m1(s) the m2 pros/max are doing pretty decent.

The a17 might be the next coming of the m1. I remember a time when they claimed the a12z rivals an i7. So an a17 potentially rivalling an m1 in leaked multicore might signal a big ipc gain for future m chip and another surprise jump for the arm argument.

After using both Mac Studio and MacBook Pro M2, I switched back to using the Mac Studio for one reason. I was finding midway through a 8-10hr day working in Unity, Xcode and Photoshop the MacBook Pro would increasingly get warmer and never cool down. Whereas the Mac Studio remained essentially ice cold and silent all day. I'll be sticking to the Mac Studio upgrade path (hopefully they continue the line).

Well shit... I put an order for an M1 Max 10c/32c/64GB Mac Studio... But to be frank, I don't want another laptop. Was daily driving an i9-9980H 'MacBook Pro with the Radeon GPU, docking it on my desktop mostly and the overheating and battery issues that plagued me is something I don't want to live through again. I even have the MoBo burnout (some kind of power controller died) and they said it was due to the constant overheating stress, even though the laptop was constantly aircooled and cleaned of any dust inside every once in a while.
I repaired it and works as new but wow was it a pain to have lost a week's worth of worktime...

I am aware that the M2 Max chips run better than the i9s but still I would like to see how they handle after back to back to back to back running because when you video edit you don't just hit render and be done with it. You go through the timeline countless times, you want playback to keep consistent and not start dropping out as the temperature rises...

If Apple had refreshed the Mac Studio with an M2 Max I would have gone there but I want something that SHOULD be more reliable and run cooler for the long run... So the Studio is still not dead for me even if raw power on the benchmarks shows otherwise
