I remember when they wanted to match Leon Spinks up with this guy. Would have been ugly because Spinks showed up to fights drunk all the time.

Back in the eighties, when ESPN was interested in sports, they showed PKA fights. When friends would drop by to watch, I would always bet on Bad Brad Hefton. I don't recall ever seeing him lose. Strong, and fast for a big guy. Absolutely brutal. Only other consistent winner I remember, was a fighter called Tornado Tommy Williams. Great fights and incredible action. Sure miss those days.

Brad was a great fighter. A skilled technician who always gave a good performance. While imo he could have been a little better with his hands he always gave his all. He and the majority of the PKA and WKA fighters were miles ahead of todays Karate Combat crowd.

A hell of a fighter. I saw him many times on ESPN but the only time I ever saw him live he got KTFO by Jerry Rhome in Atlanta in 1986. He was never the same again. I don't know where his career went after that.

Wow so impressive ,sad to me that so many great fighters went unnoticed like Rob Kaman, Benny Urquidez, Canadian Jean eves Theriault, Don Wilson, and so many other magnificent amazing fighting Goat s ,yet society spends all it's time talking about non contact tournament Karate slap flailing sparring guys (ie Chuck, or Bruce)both hag Zero fighting experience in real fighting combat competitive world ( ie Muitaikickboxing, Boxing, Wrestling etc) so this guy impressed more than most as a highly explosive heavyweight
