I downloaded the file with that filename but in the .wav file. For example: "Your file is ready for download.wav". Is this malware?

If you cancel the download file while it's downloading from the site are you safe? This happened to me today and it downloaded automatically on some weird site. I canceled it before it finished.

Mine ended up downloading an app called shotcut after opening the exe files (dumb me) I figured out it was taking up over 100gb on my SSD and was luckily a bloatware/miner virus since it was running a Java script software that would take up a lot of resources. Factory resetting after scanning seemed to have done the trick as the storage went back down and the malicious process was gone with everything back to normal.

One just downloaded rn and i was like wtf that is 100% a virus and i deleted it safely

Saw the same thing, but the page was a fake Adblock link. Then I got a pop-up saying "Do you want to download: Your File is Ready to Download.apk"

i have been trying to get somethings and i have seen this.

I just ran into this shitty virus, but through a download link for a game mod. And normally i have NoScript in my browser running but the last few days i had it deactivated for reasons... Immediately shut down the pc after win defender wasnt stopping alarming. So funny thing is, i went to my laptop and downloaded linux live usb creator and kaspersky rescue. The Linux wasnt able to create the bootstick so i wennt for Rufus which then actually created the bootstick. Then Kaspersky wasnt running anyway for some reason, so i just started windows again and logged in with my second admin. directly downloaded malwarebytes and let it run, but at this time windows defender already had my_ready_to_download_fuckyou.exe deleted and all Linux, Kaspersky and Malwarebytes were absolutely useless. The second admin and windows defender were actually enough^^

I thought it was the app I was actually trying to download so I installed it. I think it installed a duplicate of itself.

there a same thing but as an iso file and when you open the iso file it look like normal but if you have enabled hidden files, you will see not oly the bat file but a cryto miner

Sometimes reinstalling your machine will do nothing since malware attacks the hardware and not the software too.
