I would choose Mazda 3, because it has a higher ground clearance. Gasoline engines, 1.5l and 2.0l, 6 speed transmission. I also heard that models from 2013 had also soft suspensions.
Also nice to have digital service manual, i can check the km through mazda app before buying a second hand mazda.

I'm in the uk and I have a Mazda cx5 . Only 66 plate 79 k miles and major engine problems already . Very common in the sky activ 2.2 diesel . Potential £3-£4 k repairs .

I have the first gen mazda 3 hatch 2.3 liter. The mpg isn't great. 20 in the city. But the body style is superior imo.

I own a 2015 Mazda 3 hatchback touring model, and it is an absolute blast to drive. I have had no issues whatsoever with it. But I’m curious if you, my fellow Mazda owners, have had any issues or problems with it. I’m just curious to see what you all say.

I have been driving a 2021 Mazda 3 for two years. What an amazing car to drive...smooth, quiet, powerful with superb handling.

I am baffled, however, by the incessantly repeated complaint about the C pillar reducing visibility. It simply isn't true. It looks as if the reviewers can't find anything negative to say about this car so they resort to the visibility complaint. Do they ever have this complaint about the VW Golf, which also has a large C pillar?

Probably one of the biggest factors for a Mazda instead of a Toyota is that 6 speed transmission probably one of the few manufacturers that still use conventional transmission instead of cvts

2014 Mazda3- Japan built, 46mpg, handles like a go-kart, reliable as an anvil. I won’t ever get rid of it. New ones are ugly & Mexican built- no thx.

Beware the Mazda 3 did not work too well with a 2.0 L SkyActiv engine. It worked jn the CX5 and the Mazda 6 but is well known to have many problems after 60,000 miles and many engines blowing

I love my 2021 Mazda 3 S 2.5 Sedan. Driven other cars since I bought it and while some were quicker, especially a Tesla I drove, the steering and cabin of my Mazda is just excellent. Of course I wish it had more power, but it's quick enough.

I just got a 2014 Mazda 3 GT Hatchback, it’s a very nice car. Interior is very nice, and upgraded the touchscreen to Apple CarPlay. Mazda provides a oem kit to for it. Very impressed with the car.

Mazda is doing is brilliant and across the board it ranks excellently, there are cons (for instance, if you’re leaning more toward fuel efficiency) but they hold very little weight towards all of the immense value
you get for your hard earned dough (like how incredible it feels to drive). Easily a new advocate for this brand. I have such a strong sense that Mazda truly wants to grow exponentially,
already bridging the gap between car classes, I can see them maybe striving to keep affordable economy classes and creative a luxury division like
the big dogs in the game lol.

I own a manual 2010 Mazda3 with 123,000 miles. The car has been super reliable and I love it. HOWEVER, ever since I bought it sometimes under hard driving the ABS, Dynamic Stability Control and Brake lights would come on together. I would pull over, restart the car, the warning lights would go out and the car would drive normally. This problem became more frequent with time. Now the lights have come on permanently as soon as I start the car. The Mazda forums discuss this as a problem with sticking pistons in the ABS hydraulic module... sometimes the pistons don't retract properly, the related computer turns on the warning lights and shuts down the entire system, and the car defaults to normal braking without any of the electronics. Mazda narrowly missed a recall for this problem, they fought it tooth and nail because the repair was quite expensive. According to the forums the ABS hydraulic module needs to be replaced and the related computer needs to be reprogrammed. The ABS hydraulic module is very difficult to access behind the battery on the firewall with many brake lines attached to it - which are difficult to reach and remove. Cost to repair: $1,000 to $2,000 and it's most likely that Mazda will have to do it because of the computer programming issues. As a result of this problem Mazda reengineered the ABS hydraulic module for 2011 - and they use this upgraded module when repairing a 2010 car.
Another major problem with this car - which is also addressed a lot in the forums - is the clutch. Since the car was new the clutch lacked clamping power and felt more like a motorcycle clutch - it just didn't grab quickly or hard enough. I took my car back to Mazda on several occasions but they always said my clutch was up to specs. I did manage to get a 110,000 miles out of it, at which time I upgraded to a better performance clutch. The car shifts wonderfully now but I so wish I'd done the upgrade years ago.
I guess because the 2010 was the first year of this generation these were some of the bugs that needed to be worked out. Therefore I wouldn't recommend the 2010 Mazda3 manual. Probably from 2011 onward they were better cars as some of these bugs were addressed.

Not fast. But a great drive and spec and styling are above similar car type competition.

What about the Mazda CX-30? Is it worth buying if you're going to have a newborn baby?

I have been driving various Toyota since 2006 which were good and in Feb 2022 I got myself a new Mazda3 AWD premium hatch in platinum quartz and it's so great, it brings a smile to my face, 3-5 days a week I smile at some point during my drive even if I'm sad. I love it. and it looks nice too. I can't believe I put this video in my watch list and only watched it now!

I have the six speed manual 2019 Mazda 3 Premium model. It feels like a sports car and has looks to match. When I brought it in for a minor recall, I got to drive the automatic as a loaner. With the auto, gone was the feeling of power; gone was the acceleration: gone was the fantastic gas milage (I get 40 plus mpg in the mixed driving where I live in Apison Tennessee and the auto got in the low 30 mpg range), and gone was the look of a sporty, sleek car. Here in Tennessee, no one seemed to want the manual so I got a great deal on it. The Mazda 3 has about the easiest oil change on any car I've ever had. The oil filter and the drain plug are about 4 inches from each other and It takes one bolt on the plastic under guard to gain access. I change the oil every 7 to 8 thousand instead of the recommended 10. The factory recommended synthetic oil kit with the Mazda oil filter and new crush washer costs me under 50 bucks delivered. The car is a blast and the premium stereo with subwoofer , moon roof and fantastic seats make this a fine choice. It handles the country road as well as my 1965 Daytona Cobra replica and it's a joy to sit in it.

I bought a 2021 Mazda 3 sedan. I don't like the look of the hatchbacks. The sedan is fluid, elegant, to me a better-looking car all around. If I need the cargo space, then I would consider a truck.
