Wow she reminds me of my best friend.. we started drinking hard alcohol in high school with all our friends, hitting up house parties every weekend, man we had a good time, well down the line her alcoholism got the best of her, all of her girlfriends abandoned her cause she was off the friggin hook, I stook around cause everyone straight left her... sure she did some fd up things but deep down I knew dealing with her was temporary and she needed love... i got the call one day that she died, it cause up to her.. the sweetest most outgoing person I ever knew. I miss her so much💔 I was just thinking that I wish I thought about calling Intervention for her, she perhaps would still be here😔

Having a lot of experience around addiction, every one of these people have 1) an excuse as to why they use and 2) an enabler. Hopefully they and the people around them figure this stuff out but it certainly is by no means easy. That Michael Gonzales guy is a pro

Over two year sober from alcohol fentynal heroin meth just about anything I could get ahold of to stop me from feeling. I still haven’t all the way figured out how to manage my feelings but I will say that in the beginning of being sober everyday felt harder and harder to not go back. Now that I’ve made it this far the further I get the easier it is to stay away from it. I thank my grandma before she passed away for making me go to the VA and get the benefits I fought for I didn’t think i deserved but since the last time I went into psychosis I told myself and my kids I would take my schizophrenia more serious I got my benefits now I talk to a psychiatrist every month sometimes twice a month if I need someone to talk to. Getting on the right meds and stopping my theory of self medicating saved my life. I fell into alcohol when my dad passed a at while I was in the army. Frank’s for years then two years ago my gma who was basically my mom and dad I lived with as a kid passed away and I got into heroin and fentynal bad. After my best friend since 2 years old overdosed I went in hard and over dosed three times the third time took 2 shots on narcan and my once I came back to reality and they told me how close I was to being done for I told myself maybe I do want to live cause I gave up after my gma I would get as loaded as I could till I blacked out and passed out I’d wake up behind a dumpster somewhere and mad I actually woke up and I’d try all over again. I’m glad I woke up because I was becoming the person for my kids I didn’t want to be alcohol killed my dad and I didn’t want my kids to feel the way I felt and have the unanswered questions that still haunt me to this day. Everyone going through it don’t give up on yourself if you can hold on long enough to get to the other side I promise the grass really is greener

Tips to minimize stress:

Take care of basic needs which is • Step 1: Shelter, food, water & start to save money if you can giving you a sense of support especially if you don’t have a support system

• step 2:
Once you saved at least 6 months over all bills, car deductible & car problems then it’s time to start investing your remaining monthly money into figuring out what food you eat causes you to become inflamed from the lack of mineralization which can cause urges to want to go back into addiction

• step 3:
Invest in remineralizing the body with vitamins etc which you need to get tested for

• step 4:
Surround self around those that only speak life into you

That hand sanitizer is the ultimate cheat code for alcoholics. It's much cheaper than hard alcohol, you can take it anywhere, and your breath will smell deliciously clean! His internal organs must be clean AF.

"I wanted my child to have everything I didn't get growing up" I've heard that sentiment so much and I always think about how many parents have children in an attempt to heal their own inner child. And it's such a recipe for disaster, because that child isn't YOU. They will grow up into their own person, not into you.

This past December marks 3 years into my sobriety from alcohol. What made me quit drinking beer everyday was a few month long hospital stay in the fall/winter of 2020 and I had bad pain in my sides and I had my spleen removed from the surgeons and doctors. I'm now recovered and my only drug's I do now are caffine, coffee and cannabis that's it. For those who are still struggling with addiction it's not easy but it's all about the mentality and being strong everyday. I seen some of these episodes of intervention and they are eye opening.

I went from 4-6 beers on a Friday and Saturday night. Then that moves to 3-5 times a week, and eventually every night. Then it’s cheap wine because of tolerance, less liquid to drink and it’s less expensive. Moving up to a couple of bottles a night. It then progresses to a pint or two of cheap vodka (Skol), followed eventually by a full regular size bottle. And then eventually it gets to about 6 bottles of vodka a week. This is over the course of about 8 years. It’s absolutely horrific. My heart goes out to EVERYONE who goes through this, but believe me there’s a way out, and there’s hope on the other side. Clean and sober 5 years.

I think they need to explain how painful withdraw is. It would shed a little light on why people don't just get sober. Its a pain that most people will never feel and never understand. It is an unfathomable pain for someone who hasn't experienced it.

You can’t be that much of an alcoholic and be that skinny. Alcohol has a TON of calories in it. I went to 145 to 260 in like two years of drinking everyday. I sort of call bs on Tristens alcoholism.
